Chapter Seven Chapter Seven Homage to the Hum (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) of Hevajra. Now I will explain the various accomplishments, out of compassion for sentient beings, in order to bring rain to the earth. Make an image of the endless Naga king with the two syllables A (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) and Phu (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning). Here, it refers to the image of the endless Naga king. Make it out of fragrant sandalwood. From the navel upwards, it has the form of a man, and below it has the form of a snake's tail. It has four hands, the left holding a skull cup of nectar and a lotus, and the right holding a nectar fruit and a jewel. On top of its head are seven snake heads, forming a circle. Like this, to its left is the Naga king, represented by the syllable Om (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning). Then, bathe it with the five nectars, namely milk, yogurt, honey, butter, and sugar, these five being the nectars. Then, offer it with blue lotuses. Smear the body with the semen that subdues nagas, and smear the head with elephant wine. Then, join two clay bowls together and fill them with black cow's milk. Hold them with four fingers on the forehead, nose, and the end of the ear holes, keeping a length of twelve fingers including the half. Let a young black woman tie threads boiled in plague around the eight directions. Then, by the side of a pond, make a mandala in the direction of the wind, and place the Naga king Endless in the center of the pond. In the colored powder mandala, draw Hevajra being pressed down by Endless with colored powder. Here, the application of colors in the mandala will be explained: black colored powder is made from charcoal from the charnel ground, white from human bone powder, yellow from orpiment, red from bricks from the charnel ground, and green from thief's leaves mixed with a little human bone. Having constructed the mandala with these five colored powders, first draw lines with threads from the charnel ground, that is, threads made from the sinews of corpses, with a length of three cubits plus three fingers, from the center of the eyebrows to the end of the navel, that is, the distances of going and coming. Make an eight-petaled lotus with half of the mandala, with one part of the three parts as the center.
