"Commentary on the Praise of the Three Bodies" by Nagarjuna. "Commentary on the Praise of the Three Bodies" by Nagarjuna. In Sanskrit: Kāyatraya Stotra Nāma Syā Viparanāma. In Tibetan: "Commentary on the Praise of the Three Bodies." Homage to the noble youthful Manjushri! The praise of the three bodies of the great self, composed by Nagarjuna, is differentiated according to how it is arranged, urged by the request of others. Here, with three verses beginning with "Neither one nor many," the subject matter, purpose, connection, and ultimate purpose are to be stated. For those who do not have a subject matter, purpose, or connection, those who prioritize individual thoughts will not accept them. Therefore, in order to bring to mind those who are truly ignorant of what will be explained here, the subject matter is explained. In order to ensure that thoughts that the explanation is meaningless are eliminated, the purpose is shown. In order to dispel doubts without means, the connection is explained. Otherwise, how would those without means enter? Therefore, here, the three bodies are what is to be explained. Explaining their own nature is the purpose. This verse was made to explain their own nature. Therefore, the purpose and the verses are connected in the nature of the speaker and the spoken, or the word and the word-possessor are connected, or they are connected in the nature of the means and the result of the means, or they are connected in the nature of proof and what is to be proven, or they are connected in the nature of action and agent. That is the connection. Then, with effort and diligent perseverance, one's own accomplishment of the meaning and activity of the three bodies is to be known as the ultimate purpose. This is temporarily the general meaning. Now, the meaning of the branches is to be stated, beginning with "Neither one nor many." One and many are one and many. Two is non-duality itself. Many is multiplicity itself. I prostrate to that Dharmakaya that has not become one or many. That is the concluding statement. Why is it neither one nor many?

Therefore, it is said in the scriptures, "Unborn from the very beginning." So, whatever is unborn from the very beginning cannot function in the state of "one" and "many," but is like the sky, the very nature of being completely without interruption. All dharmas also arise in this way. Therefore, whatever arises from whatever, whatever transforms into various forms, is unseen, just as the seeds of rice and so on produce the fruit of rice. Similarly, whatever arises from emptiness will not become permanent and discontinuous, because all the victorious ones, free from all conceptual elaborations, also see it as empty and like an illusion. Furthermore, in order to বিশেষভাবে specify, it is also said, "Being the basis of the great perfection of benefiting oneself and others." Self and others are self and others. Benefiting these, being the basis of perfection, means being the basis of the great perfection that has the nature of higher realms and definite goodness. Because, if the nature of dharma is emptiness, which is free from one and many, without beginning and end, then how can it be the basis of the great perfection of benefiting oneself and others? There is no fault. Like this, due to the power of the habits of ignorance, just as it is established as vessel and content, it becomes the basis of the great perfection of benefiting oneself and others, just like the consciousness of dreams and so on. If the habits of ignorance and the nature of dharma, the nature of being without beginning and end, also become the habits of ignorance, just like being perfumed with musk and so on, the dharmata of things is like that. Therefore, it is the basis of the great perfection of benefiting oneself and others. Furthermore, because of meeting a virtuous friend and finding a good path, the temporary habits of ignorance are दूर and become completely purified, just like gold and copper are दूर from impurities. This has ग्रहण and त्याग merits and faults. Why is that? Because it is only the realization of the true meaning. Therefore, regarding this, there is nothing to be removed, nothing to be measured, देखने reality with reality, if you see reality, you are liberated. Thus it is said.
