'Medicine Woman, please come here now! I want to ask you about the three realms (Tibetan: སྲིད་པ་གསུམ་, Meaning: the three realms of existence, namely the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm). Please reveal your name from among the gods, demons, and the eight classes of beings (Tibetan: ལྷ་སྲིད་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་, Meaning: the eight classes of non-human deities in Buddhism). Please fly here lightly! Please speak frankly! Please reveal the signs of this divination to me!' Thus, pray. After doing so, if the Medicine Woman comes, then roads, people, types of gods and demons, houses, valleys, and various kinds of scenes will appear in the mirror. If such scenes appear, that is a sign that the Medicine Woman has come. Then ask questions in order. If she does not come after one prayer, pray twice. If she still does not come after two prayers, pray three times. Continue praying until the Medicine Woman truly comes. When asking questions, start by asking the oldest person among the patrons (Tibetan: སྦྱིན་བདག་, Meaning: donor, benefactor). After asking, the Medicine Woman will show her image and indicate who she is. For a Geshe (Tibetan: དགེ་བཤེས་, Meaning: a Buddhist academic degree), it is a good omen if a vajra bell and a parasol banner appear. For a mantra practitioner, it is a good omen if a vajra dagger appears. For a Bonpo practitioner, it is a good omen if a divination arrow appears. For a man, it is a good omen if an arrow appears. For a woman, it is a good omen if a spindle appears. For a patient, it is a good omen if a swollen abscess and an arrow banner appear. In general, no matter what different images appear, the Medicine Woman will show what they represent. The most intelligent girl will speak as if talking to someone. The moderately intelligent girl can see all the images and hear some voices. The least intelligent girl cannot hear the voices, but can only see the images. If what is asked will happen, the Medicine Woman will nod; if it will not happen, the Medicine Woman will shake her head. It is necessary to observe carefully. If the images that appear are a horse rider, a bird, a dog, a person, or something black, that is the harm of demons. If these images are red, that is the manifestation of the Tsen (Tibetan: བཙན་, Meaning: a fierce spirit). If these images are white, that is the manifestation of the gods. If the ocean, a spring, or lush trees appear, that is the harm of the Nagas. It is a good omen if a lucky bird and the Eight Auspicious Symbols (Tibetan: བཀྲ་ཤིས་རྟགས་བརྒྱད་, Meaning: the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism) appear. It is a good omen if many jewels appear. It is a good omen if abundant crops appear. It is a bad omen if arrows, knots, or tangled ropes appear, which are unfavorable to enemies. If rotten barley appears, it indicates that people will suffer from famine, which is a bad omen. If mash appears, it indicates that there will be complete failure in the end, which is a bad omen. All white things are good omens, variegated things are moderate omens, and black things are bad omens. The more good omens there are, the higher the status will be. No matter what appears, if you have doubts or do not understand, ask the Medicine Woman, and she will show the meaning of the images.
