Remembering the Faults of Wandering in the Bardo: Even if one obtains this rare human body once, due to the innate connection with ignorance, remembering the uncertainty of death, secure the mind with mindfulness like an iron hook, without distraction, focus single-mindedly, reciting mantras in a manner that is neither too fast nor too slow, moderate and clear. If one becomes weary or drowsy while reciting, one can chant with or without melody, whichever is suitable, and sing any appropriate praises. Offerings, such as music, can be made elaborately or simply, as desired. Intensely pray for whatever one desires. Circumambulate. Read the 'Heap of Jewels Dharani Sutra'. Offer torma to the Three Jewels, Dharma Protectors, Dakinis, etc. Satisfy all sentient beings with torma, etc. Sum up the total number of mantras, and with the merit of accomplishing this many millions of mantras as the main focus, and with all the virtuous deeds related to the three times that one has done oneself, encouraged others to do, and rejoiced in what others have done, may I attain perfect enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. Until I attain this state, may I please all the noble ones, such as the Three Family Lords (Avalokiteśvara, Mañjuśrī, Vajrapāṇi), and may I perform great deeds for the Holy Dharma, the Sangha, and all fields of merit. May I always spend my time perfecting the two accumulations and purifying the two obscurations. May I always have faith, renunciation, and weariness, remembering impermanence, and may I diligently engage in Dharma practice. May all inauspicious events and obstacles, such as human and livestock diseases, conflicts, strife, famine, and hail, be eliminated and never occur in all places. May all my endeavors be auspicious and perfect, and may I enjoy the glory of happiness and well-being in a manner that is in accordance with the Dharma. Thus, make extensive prayers from the depths of your heart. By the great blessings of the Three Jewels, the power of all the virtuous deeds done, and the blessings of the Dharmadhatu as it is, may all prayers be fulfilled exactly as they are. Thus, after doing one's best, offer thanks, offerings, and praises. In any way, such as 'unprepared and deficient', ask for forgiveness. Complete any omissions with the Hundred Syllable Mantra. Request accomplishments and request the wisdom being to remain stable on the deity image. Request the deity and its retinue, as well as the guests of the torma, to return to their respective places. By doing so, the practitioner and their parents, relatives, and friends... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whether it is virtuous roots that transcend time, seasonal offerings, healing rituals for illnesses, or aiming to avert adverse conditions and obstacles such as hail, frost, and epidemics, in short, whatever the goal, all these goals will be accomplished as they are, without any doubt. The vows of this practice are: through repeatedly remembering the impermanence of death, the infallibility of karma, the faults of samsara, the benefits of liberation, and the blessings of the deities, strive to abandon all non-virtuous actions as much as possible, strive to accomplish all virtuous actions as much as possible, generate great faith and respect for the Lama and the Three Jewels, generate loving-kindness and compassion for all sentient beings without discrimination, and strive to benefit them and protect them from harm. Vow to recite thousands of mantras every day, or as much as possible, and recite them continuously. In addition, whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, recite without interruption. Whenever you see any object of refuge of the Three Jewels, join your palms together in faith, or even just bow your head in respect. By doing so, you will have longevity, be free from illness, increase your prosperity, and fulfill your wishes. You will not be harmed by humans or non-humans. Your thoughts will be in accordance with the Dharma and you will be able to use them freely. At the time of death, emanations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come to greet you in a miraculous way, and you will be reborn in Sukhavati or Potala, etc., and perfect all qualities. The concise compilation of profound instructions received by accomplished masters during their practice, as stated in all the profound teachings of the Sutras, Vinaya, and Abhidharma, is complete. This is the Karma Kagyu tradition. Written by one with the four reliances, without sectarian bias, in a very secluded place, completely hidden from the fear of Hor. May this also greatly benefit the Dharma and all sentient beings! May there be auspiciousness! So be it! (The original text is only the Zamtang edition.)
