So-called "seeing" refers to the recognition of reality and applying it to meaning. When this continuity of awareness is seen, the nature of awareness has no good or bad and no change, everything arises from it, and there is no other place to go, so it is called "base," and it is impossible to get lost elsewhere. This awareness manifests signs of liberation by controlling the energy channels, appearing as flow; it manifests signs of liberation by relying on bindus, appearing as a connection of subtle bindus; it manifests signs of liberation by relying on the key points of the channels, appearing as a subtle and curved continuity. Although these three are not the real awareness, they achieve liberation by force through the merits they possess by relying on them. The appearance of awareness is not just seeing, it also needs to be habituated, the sign of which is that the continuity of awareness is connected to each other. The above is the recognition of the "base." Now, let's understand the meaning of these a little. The Second Omniscient One said that the basis of all paths to Buddhahood is: from the perspective of the basis of practice, it is the realm of awareness that encompasses both appearance and emptiness; from the perspective of the method of practice, it is the two accumulations of skillful means and wisdom of the generation and completion stages; from the perspective of the result of practice, it is the manifestation of all the qualities of the three bodies. Just as one knows that one can achieve by practicing first, just like knowing that there is oil in sesame seeds. Secondly, knowing that the path must be practiced, if one does not make the effort of pressing, the oil will not appear. Thirdly, through the achievement of the first two, the result is easily obtained in the end, just like the oil is extracted. Therefore, what the Nyingthig's intention relies on is the ultimate truth Dharmakaya, the unchanging great bliss, the wisdom of clear light, and its basis, the conventional truth, the pure and perfect all-supreme mudra, the inseparable base of the form body, which is the realization of the meaning of A-Vam union. Through the practice of A-Vam union of the co-emergent definitive meaning deity and the clear light great perfection stage Trekchö and Tögal paths, which are the ultimate of all skillful means and wisdom generation and completion stages, the result is the spontaneous accomplishment of the five bodies, the attainment of the state of A-Vam union Vajradhara, therefore, the true basis of the connection between the base, path, and result is.

The reason for considering appearance as the basis is that, in terms of the division of the three: basis, path, and result, as stated in "Auspicious Splendor," for the spontaneously present, indeterminate ground appearance, whether or not the indeterminate compassion grasps its own ground determines the basis for samsara, nirvana, liberation, and confusion. For example, a conch shell is inherently white, and although it may appear yellow, the color of the conch shell has never changed from being white. Similarly, the ground appearance, the spontaneously present precious essence, the self-appearing sambhogakaya arrangement, is the basis for liberation. As stated in the "Treasury of Words and Meanings": "This ground appearance is the basis for liberation, and primordial purity is the place of liberation. It is extremely important to distinguish between these two, and very few can distinguish them well." However, due to the power of ignorance, just as the habit of the conch shell appearing yellow continues, the spontaneously present appearance itself is confused into a dharma of samsara, and therefore it is also the basis for both samsara and nirvana. Therefore, in the "Garland of Pearls," it says: "Although many bases of confusion are spoken of, they are spontaneity and compassion." That is to say, from the perspective of the secret source, the self-arisen lamp of wisdom, the self-power of the three-fold essence, nature, and compassion of awareness-wisdom, the self-sound that perfects the five wisdoms, the five lights are the perfect enjoyment of the signs and examples, confused from the five kayas and the nirmanakaya, and wrapped in the essence of form or habit. As stated in the "Tantra of the Lamp of Wisdom": "Is there anything else besides this? O secret lord, these five wisdoms are called the wisdom abiding in the ground. The five lights are called the lights that hold characteristics. The five kayas are called the compassionate nirmanakaya, which has eyes of light." And as stated in the "Extensive": "The ground is pure like the mirror of wisdom, Letting go of conceptualization is confused into water." Etc. This spontaneously accomplished ground appearance is the mind's awareness, the dharmakaya wisdom, the body of the self-arisen lamp of wisdom, the great seal, and the actual appearance of the self-appearing sambhogakaya, which abides as the support, and if recognized, it becomes the basis for liberation. Therefore, from the determination of the path or body-method tantra, the body is the basis of support, the mind is what is relied upon, conventional and ultimate (emptiness basis with property), appearance and emptiness (method and method-born), method and wisdom (commentary on the basis of maturation and actual result).
