Ana Laya. Yatha Vajrana. Yatha Hridaya Svaha. This Vajrapani is the dharani called the Auspicious Gate. The Tathagatas spoke it out of compassion for the benefit of sentient beings. Just as the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Perfectly Awakened Buddhas of the past spoke and blessed it, and established it with the vow of truth, so shall I also explain it. Then, the Bhagavan emitted rays of light from the great being's mark, the white hair between the eyebrows, and the appearance of light occurred in all Buddha-fields. Urged by the appearance of light, they departed from their respective Buddha-fields and came to this Saha world. They gave praise to the Bhagavan Shakyamuni, saying: Shakyamuni, you have spoken well, well, for the benefit of all sentient beings, the Dharma category called the Auspicious Gate, the root of the dharani mantras, making it appear, making it extremely joyful, making it remembered! We also bless it, we give praise. Whichever son or daughter of good family holds these roots of dharani mantras, and the son or daughter of good family who rises in the morning and recites them, should know that there are twenty benefits of their qualities. What are the twenty? They are as follows: They will be blessed by all the Buddhas, they will be remembered by all the Buddhas, all the karmic obscurations that lead to bad destinies will be eliminated, they will have a long life, they will live long and have fame, they will have enjoyment, they will have strength, they will have splendor, they will always be healthy, they will have diligence, all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will be pleased and satisfied, they will be remembered by all the gods, they will practice virtue, they will be extremely diligent in virtuous deeds, they will make it appear, they will be extremely joyful, they will be endowed with memory, they will be endowed with perfect marks, they will be fearless, they will be endowed with all roots of virtue. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, I too, for the sake of protecting and completely guarding that son or daughter of the lineage, will speak the root mantras of the dharani. Whoever holds this knowledge-mantra of longevity, a category of Dharma called "Good Door," and recites it upon rising in the morning, I will protect them from all harm. Tadyatha. The Bodhisattva Vajrapani then said: Bhagavan, whoever holds this knowledge-mantra of longevity, a category of Dharma called "Good Door," and recites it upon rising in the morning, I will speak of bestowing all radiance into the pores of their skin.
