The defilements are completely purified, and the completely purified Dharma is taught. Then, by the blessing of the Buddha, Vajrapani looked at those retinues and stood up. With the blessing of his own magical power, he circumambulated the Blessed One thousands of times. After prostrating, he sat down in front of the Blessed One. With pride, in a well-arranged lotus posture, he looked at those retinues, placed the vajra palms together at his heart, and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, The planets are fierce and have fierce forms, violent and have violent forms. To sentient beings with angry and wrathful minds, they inflict various kinds of harm and injury, and steal their radiance. Some steal wealth, some steal lives, and some make long-lived beings short-lived. In this way, because they harm and injure sentient beings, therefore, for this reason, please, Blessed One, explain by what kind of Dharma category one can protect sentient beings. The Blessed One said: Vajrapani, it is excellent, excellent that you have generated compassion for the purpose of benefiting sentient beings and are asking the Tathagata about the great secret that is extremely secret. I will explain those. Listen well, remember them well, and keep them in mind. To the fierce forms of the planets, those who are extremely angry and terrifying, I will explain the best offerings, offering substances, and recitations, and the most secret of secrets. Those who are worshiped by offerings, and if harm is done, they will do harm. The colors of all those planets, and how to make them happy, as well as the gods and the asuras, and the human-like beings, the nagas, and the yakshas and the rakshasas, and the flesh-eating demons and the humans, and the powerful and greatly majestic ones, in order to pacify their anger, the secret mantras and offerings will be explained in order. Then, from the heart of the Blessed One Shakyamuni himself, blazing rays of light called compassion pervading emanated and entered the crowns of the planets.
