This, the chapter called the Essence of All Nagas, should be recited continuously for twenty-one days. In the east, the three-headed Naga King, along with his retinue, should be drawn with cow dung. In the south, the five-headed Naga King called the Greatly Increasing One, along with his retinue, should be drawn. In the west, the seven-headed Naga King called the Radiant Crested One, along with his retinue, should be drawn. In the north, the nine-headed Naga King called Cloud Body, along with his retinue, should be drawn. Banners, blue cloths, blue victory banners, and all offerings should also be blue. Bringing in the essence of the Nagas should be done with the three sweets. Seven libations with the three sweets should also be offered in a fire oblation with the essence of the Nagas. The kings of the clouds should also be drawn, touching each other to cause a continuous rain, and finally causing lightning to flash. Here, what is brought in should be auspicious milk porridge, dough, meat, fish meat, and excellent food made from honey, abundantly. Then, the Dharma speaker, being clean and wearing clean clothes, should recite the chapter of the mandala of wind, the essence of all Nagas. Then, starting from the first day, the Nagas will make the sound "Di Ri Ri," and a pleasing sound will bring forth blessings. Do not doubt or despise this chapter. If the ocean is out of season, then this rain will also be out of season. When it is about to rain, any one of a Bhikshu or Bhikshuni, Upasaka or Upasika, should wash their head and wear clean clothes, and with a mind of loving-kindness, write down these names of the Tathagata. Having placed them on a clean seat, and set seven bowls upwards towards the sky, recite the names of the Tathagata fifty times and make great offerings. If this is done continuously for seven days, it will rain. The chapter of the Noble Great Cloud Wind Wheel, called the Essence of all Nagas, a Mahayana Sutra, is completed.
