Then, in that assembly, the yaksha named Vajra Fierce Hand, arose from his seat, knelt on his right knee, with eyes half-closed, and with great humility from his own conduct, beseeched the Bhagavan, saying: O Bhagavan, in the future time, beings with malice will harm sentient beings in three ways, and will also greatly torment them with the poison of touch. With the poison of breath, they will greatly intoxicate and make them very heavy. With the poison of sight, they will consume, gnaw, and burn. In order to dispel the suffering of those who spread the poison of breath and the poisons of touch on the body, please, Bhagavan, speak. The Bhagavan spoke: Listen, Yaksha, Lord of Secrets, the three poisons are also the root of poison, and also arise from the three poisons. The root poison has no self-nature. It is the best of antidotes. The medicine itself arises naturally and not from others. It is liberated from itself and from others. If the root poison is self-liberated, then the three poisons and so on are not found elsewhere. The poison of the five elements that arise from the five poisons, destroys arising only in conventionality. For the sake of thoroughly destroying them, the root poison and so on of self, other, and self-liberated nectar, destroys.
