So, she left the eldest son on this side of the river and carried the youngest son to the other side. When she returned to fetch the eldest son, the son hadn't come, so she entered the river and was carried away by the water. She tried to grab him, but she was too weak and couldn't hold on, so she was carried away by the water. Then the wandering mendicant helped her up, took her home, and cherished and pitied her like a daughter. Later, another wandering mendicant took her as his wife, and she enjoyed all kinds of pleasures with him. Later, she became pregnant, and when she was about to give birth, another family invited her husband to their house for drinks. It was then that she gave birth to a child. She closed the door tightly to give birth, but the drunken men knocked on the door. When she didn't open it, they angrily broke down the door and came in, and they beat her. 心想：我没有福报，业障深重。于是舍弃家庭，逃往达拉国。在达拉国郊外的一棵树下，她正坐着，这时，城里一位年轻的富翁，新娶的妻子去世了，他把妻子的骨灰埋在城外。富翁因为爱恋妻子，所以在骨灰旁哭泣。她走到富翁身边，问他：“你一个人在这里做什么？”她也同样说了自己的遭遇。富翁便把她带到花园里，说：“做我的妻子吧。”她也答应了。夫妻二人生活在一起，没过多久，富翁生病去世了。当时，按照当地的风俗，夫妻恩爱，丈夫去世后，妻子也要活着和丈夫一起埋葬。她也被埋进坟墓。晚上，盗墓贼来了，挖开了坟墓。盗墓贼的首领看到她很漂亮，就把她纳为妻。没过多久，盗墓贼被国王处死了。盗贼的同伙把骨灰交给她，又把她和骨灰一起埋进坟墓。她在坟墓里待了三天，一只狼挖开了坟墓，把她从坟墓里刨了出来。她心想：我以前到底做了什么恶业，才会这样多次死去又复活？以前听说释迦族出了一位太子，已经证悟成佛，名叫释迦牟尼佛，能知过去和未来的一切。现在我要去皈依他。于是她朝向国王胜利花园的方向走去。远远地，她看见如来佛像盛开的花树一般，又像群星中的月亮一般。当时，世尊以无碍的智慧，知道度化她的时机已经成熟，便起身迎接她。她因为赤身裸体而感到羞愧，用手遮住乳房，坐在地上。然后，世尊告诉阿难陀：“给这位妇女穿上衣服。”她穿上衣服后，用头顶礼世尊的双脚，祈求对她慈悲。

Outside the country of Dara, she was sitting under a tree when a young wealthy man from the town, whose newlywed wife had died, buried his wife's ashes outside the city. The wealthy man, because he loved his wife, was crying by the ashes. She came to the wealthy man and asked him, "What are you doing here alone?" She also told him about her experiences. The wealthy man then took her to the garden and said, "Be my wife." She agreed. The couple lived together, but before long, the wealthy man fell ill and died. At that time, according to the local custom, loving couples, when the husband died, the wife would also be buried alive with the husband. She was also buried in the tomb. At night, tomb robbers came and dug up the tomb. The leader of the tomb robbers saw that she was beautiful and took her as his wife. Before long, the tomb robbers were executed by the king. The robbers' companions gave her the ashes and buried her and the ashes together in the tomb again. She stayed in the tomb for three days, and a wolf dug up the tomb and pulled her out of the tomb. She thought to herself, "What evil deeds did I do in the past that I have died and been resurrected so many times?" She had heard that a prince of the Shakya clan had attained enlightenment and become a Buddha, named Shakyamuni Buddha, who knows everything of the past and future. Now I will take refuge in him. So she went towards the King's Victory Garden. From afar, she saw the Tathagata like a blooming flower tree, or like the moon among the stars. At that time, the Blessed One, with unimpeded wisdom, knew that the time had come to tame her, so he stood up to greet her. She was ashamed because she was naked, and covered her breasts with her hands and sat on the ground. Then, the Blessed One told Ananda, "Give this woman clothes to wear." After she put on the clothes, she bowed her head to the feet of the Blessed One, and asked for his compassion.
