Even though those things that I am are not there, yet there is this: is it only the perception of the sphere of nothingness? Or is there only a place of affliction that depends on some of it? Kungawo, therefore, although one correctly sees that whatever is not in something is empty of it, one should thoroughly know as it is that whatever remains there is in it. Kungawo, this entry into emptiness is as it is, and is not inverted. Kungawo, furthermore, if a monk wishes, 'Alas, I should abide in emptiness many times,' Kungawo, that monk should not attend to the perception of the sphere of infinite consciousness and the perception of the sphere of nothingness, but should attend to the signless realm, or some of it. He thinks to himself: This aspect of perception is like this: although it is empty of the perception of the sphere of infinite consciousness and the perception of the sphere of nothingness, yet there is something that is not empty of this, only the signless realm, or depending on some of it. There, although those places of affliction that depend on the perception of the sphere of infinite consciousness and the perception of the sphere of nothingness are not there, yet there is this: only the signless realm, or only a place of affliction that depends on some of it. Kungawo, therefore, although one correctly sees that whatever is not in something is empty of it, one should thoroughly know as it is that whatever remains there is in it. Kungawo, this entry into emptiness is as it is, and is not inverted. He thinks to himself: The signless realm is also fabricated and mentally fabricated, and whatever is fabricated and mentally fabricated, one should not rejoice in it, or speak of it, or be particularly attached to it, or be particularly attached and abide in it. Knowing and seeing it in this way, the mind is completely liberated from the outflow of desire, and the mind is also liberated from the outflow of existence and the outflow of ignorance.

Liberated! Through liberation, my birth is exhausted! The pure conduct has been shown! What had to be done has been done! There is nothing else to know beyond this existence, thus only the wisdom of liberation becomes manifest. He thinks thus: This form of consciousness is like this: although empty of the outflows of desire, the outflows of existence, and the outflows of ignorance, yet for this, it is like this: relying solely on this body of the six sense sources that are conditioned by life, there is also something that is not empty. For that, although there are no places of affliction that rely on the outflows of desire, the outflows of existence, and the outflows of ignorance, yet for that, it is like this: merely relying on that body of the six sense sources that are conditioned by life, there are still places of affliction. Ananda, therefore, seeing correctly in accordance with what is empty of what, that is empty of that, and also knowing perfectly as it is that whatever remains in that, that exists in that. Ananda, for example, because the outflows are exhausted, it is without outflows, and whatever liberation is not manifestly accumulated, this is the unsurpassed entry into emptiness. Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas, those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who appeared in the past, those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, also did this: because the outflows are exhausted, it is without outflows, and not manifestly accumulated, having realized this unsurpassed entry into the emptiness of liberation with their own bodies, they remained in practice. Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas, those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who will appear in the future, those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, will also do this: because the outflows are exhausted, it is without outflows, and not manifestly accumulated, having realized this unsurpassed entry into the emptiness of liberation with their own bodies, they will remain in practice. Ananda, now the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly complete Buddha, I, in this time of appearance, am also doing this: because the outflows are exhausted, it is without outflows, and not accumulated, having realized this unsurpassed entry into the emptiness of liberation with my own body, I am practicing

It is finished and dwells. Ananda, therefore, it should be like this, that is, because all the outflows are exhausted, there is no outflow and no manifest aggregation, and entering into the unsurpassed emptiness of liberation, this should be actually realized by the body and practiced and abide. Thus, one should train. Ananda, you should also train in the same way. Then, the venerable Ananda, praised the words spoken by the Blessed One and rejoiced after that, He bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and departed from before the Blessed One. The Great Sutra on Emptiness is complete. The Great Sutra on Great Emptiness.
