像须弥山王那样的金子堆积如山，奉献布施，像那样进行布施，即使在百千万亿年中进行布施，也不及受持佛名的善根的百分之一。千分、百万分、算数、比喻都无法相比。因此，对于受持如来、应供、正等觉、珍宝圣佛之名的人来说，如果有什么是最好的，那就是这个了。然后，世尊在那时说了这首偈颂：世间的怙主，光明照耀者，他们知晓时与非时，利益一切众生，他们在东方、南方、西方和北方，各方都安住着，那些大丈夫中的 श्रेष्ठ者，日夜都要恭敬合掌顶礼。哪些人是人中的 श्रेष्ठ者呢？他们是千劫难遇的，对他们顶礼有什么殊胜的功德呢？想要恭敬供养佛，想要圆满菩提，就应当听闻诸佛的名号，这是胜者所说的。对于生起佛的智慧，永远不会犹豫，因为那个善根，能获得这个不可思议的智慧。无论何时想要对佛做不可思议的供养，听闻佛名后，就应当为他人宣说。无论何时想要救度无数众生脱离轮回，听闻佛名后，就不会再转生为凡夫。无论何时想要用脚趾撼动无数佛土，听闻佛名后，就应当为大众宣说。谁能受持诸佛的名号，胜过供养无数的导师，因为他不是一生，不是十生，也不是二十生。用恒河沙数般的珍宝黄金充满这个世界来供养，谁能听闻殊胜佛的名号，那个布施的功德连百分之一都比不上。谁能听闻并受持这个佛名，那

Offering and giving piles of gold as large as Mount Meru, and making such offerings, even if one makes offerings for hundreds of millions of years, it does not even come close to one hundredth of the root of virtue of holding the name of the Buddha. Not even close to a thousandth, a hundred thousandth, a number, a count, or an example. Therefore, for those who hold the name of the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha, Precious Holy Buddha, if there is anything that is supreme, it is this alone. Then, at that time, the Blessed One spoke this verse: The protectors of the world, the radiant ones, who know the times and the non-times, who benefit all sentient beings, they dwell in the east, south, west, and north, in all directions, to those foremost of men, day and night, with reverence, fold your palms and prostrate. Which ones are the foremost of men? They are the ones who appear in a thousand kalpas, what extraordinary merit is there in prostrating to them? Wanting to honor and serve the Buddha, wanting perfect enlightenment, one should listen to the names of the Buddhas, this is what the Victorious One said. For generating the wisdom of the Buddha, one will never doubt, because with that root of virtue, one will obtain this inconceivable wisdom. Whenever one wants to make inconceivable offerings to the Buddha, after hearing the name of the Buddha, one should proclaim it to others. Whenever one wants to liberate countless sentient beings from samsara, after hearing the name of the Buddha, one will not be born as a common person. Whenever one wants to shake countless Buddha lands with one's toe, after hearing the name of the Buddha, one should proclaim it to the multitude. Whoever holds this name of the Buddhas, surpasses offering to countless guides, because it is not one lifetime, not ten lifetimes, not twenty lifetimes. Filling this world with jewels and gold as numerous as the sands of the Ganges to offer, whoever hears the name of the supreme Buddha, that merit of giving does not even compare to one hundredth. The most excellent Gamira has become. That person possesses the branch of melodious sound in the human world. Well obtained is renunciation, well obtained is the enjoyment of food. After the Blessed One spoke thus, those monks and, those Bodhisattvas and, the Elder Mahakashyapa, and the world with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said. In the Sutra of Great Expansion, the Great Dharma Category of the Mahayana Sutra called "The Noble Buddha's Crown Ornament" is completed.
