After performing the protection ritual, recite seven times at the corner of the Dharma robe, untie the knot, and continuously recite this chapter called "Essence of All Nagas" of the Mandala of Wind for twenty-one days. In the east, draw the three-headed Naga King with cow dung, along with his retinue. In the south, draw the five-headed Naga King called "Increasing Greatly," along with his retinue. In the west, draw the seven-headed Naga King called "Possessing Light Crest," along with his retinue. In the north, draw the nine-headed Naga King called "Cloud Instigator," along with his retinue. The banners, blue clothes, blue victory banners, and all the offerings should also be blue. The offering to the Nagas should be made with the three sweets. Also, burn and offer seven libations of the three sweets with the essence of the Nagas. Also, draw the kings of the clouds, so that the rain falls continuously, touching each other, and finally with lightning flashing. Here, the offerings are: auspicious grains, lentils, meat, fish meat, and abundant delicacies made with honey. Then, the Dharma speaker should remain clean, wear clean clothes, and recite this chapter of the Mandala of Wind, "Essence of All Nagas." Then, starting from the first day, the Nagas will make the sound of Diri Ri, emitting pleasing sounds, and do not doubt or despise this chapter. May this rite of viewing be accomplished! Tadyatha: Sputa Sputa, Sputa Sputa Sputa Svaha. When it does not rain, any one of the monks or nuns, or male or female lay practitioners, should wash their hair, put on clean clothes, and with a compassionate heart, write down these names of the Tathagata, place them on a clean seat, burn incense upwards to the sky with seven incense burners, recite the names of the Tathagata fifty times, make great offerings, and continue without interruption for seven days, then it will rain.
