I am weary of samsara and feel aversion. The Blessed One said: This samsara is impermanent and is the cause of suffering. The king asked: Blessed One, how is this samsara impermanent? The Blessed One said: The outer world is also impermanent, and the inner sentient beings are also impermanent. The king asked: How is the outer world impermanent? The Blessed One said: The outer world, even Mount Meru and the continents, when the fire of the eon arises at the time of destruction, not even a trace of ash remains. The destruction by water and wind is the same. Furthermore, summer is warm and growing, winter is cold and dry, good years and bad years, droughts and floods are uncertain. Years and months pass, approaching the time of destruction. Such impermanence is obvious. If it were permanent, why would it change and pass away? The king asked: How are inner sentient beings impermanent? The Blessed One said: Inner sentient beings, even in this life, are gradually cut off by days, nights, months, and years. Days and nights pass, and death draws nearer and nearer. Even if one wants to not die, one has no control over oneself. Birth, old age, sickness, and death are like one's own destiny. The Lord of Death, the Mara, is like an osprey waiting for fish. The causes of death are inconceivable. There is nothing that has not met the causes of death. This body, though nourished by food, will die from overeating. In this world, whether great or small, rich or poor, no one can escape the control of the Lord of Death. All the people who have died before, always hoping, accumulate children and wealth, but children and wealth are of no benefit to one's own body. One dies accompanied by one's own virtues and sins. Even in this time when one is alive, how many deaths of dear friends, relatives, loved ones and unloved ones, those of similar age and the old and young, have you not seen and heard? All these sentient beings living on the earth, even if they live within a hundred years, will all die. Therefore, we too are subject to death. No one knows whether we will die today or tomorrow. Those who are uncertain are neither afraid nor generous. How will I be tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or today? At the time of death, parents, children, siblings, dear friends, servants, wealth, etc., will not follow after one's death. No one can share the fate of suffering.

Therefore, even when born, one is born alone. Ultimately, even when dying, one dies alone. All the relatives who share a moment of life are like guests sharing a lodging, eventually departing separately. Even those one cannot bear to part with for a moment, friends, wealth, possessions, homeland, and cities are all abandoned, and one goes alone on a terrifying path. No matter how much wealth is accumulated by engaging in sin, one bears the karmic consequences of sin in ignorance. The accumulated wealth is taken away by others, by sons and grandsons. Therefore, what benefit is there in accumulated wealth? Even this body, which is so dear to oneself, is discarded like a broken pot at the time of death. Even the flesh and bones that were born together separate. Powerless and alone, one wanders, and wherever one is born due to the force of karma, therefore, one should not commit sins for the sake of the body. This body will sink into the earth, never knowing satisfaction. Born from impurity, it is a collection of impurity, a place of all suffering such as sickness, old age, and death. After death, the abandoned body is just a patch of filth on the earth. It is eaten by birds, dogs, wolves, and the like. Even if one strives to care for it, it is snatched away by the demon of death. It is despised by the wise and clung to by fools. Therefore, which wise person would cling to the body? One should not engage in fearful deeds for the sake of the body. To whom does one give wages, rewards, clothes, and food for this? For the sake of long-term benefit, plant the seeds of merit. My only friends are virtue and sin. Among them, virtue is the cause of heaven and liberation, and sin is the cause of suffering in the lower realms. Even before death, the body is impermanent, changing into a small child, an infant, and a youth. Then, one experiences maturity, decline, and old age. If the body were permanent, how could these stages change? Enjoyment, happiness, and suffering are also impermanent. The powerful and wealthy become poor and destitute. The poor and destitute also become powerful and wealthy. Youth and enjoyment are destroyed by old age and death. All these worldly phenomena are impermanent. King Embodied Form asked: Blessed One, what is the suffering of those in samsara? The Blessed One replied: There is never happiness for those in samsara. All that is done is a source of meaningless suffering. The main sufferings are the four: birth, old age, sickness, and death. If one is born in hell, there will be such suffering. Hell guards and hells
