Chapter 9: The Chapter on the Complete Purity of All Dharmas by Their Nature. Chapter 9: The Chapter on the Complete Purity of All Dharmas by Their Nature. Then, King Ajatashatru said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, all dharmas follow after causes, and if cultivated, they have the characteristic of arising. Thus, they are accomplished in whatever way they are desired. Bhagavan, the conduct of Bodhi is limitless. Therefore, as long as a Bodhisattva has not completely taken hold of a Buddha-field endowed with all kinds of excellence, he will practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Bhagavan, all Bodhisattvas will purify the Buddha-fields just like the Dragon King Ocean. The Bhagavan said: "Great King, it is as you say. All dharmas arise from attention, and since all dharmas are without action, they are accomplished as desired. Then King Ajatashatru said to the Dragon King Ocean: "Lord of the Dragons, that you have been predicted by the Tathagata to attain unsurpassable, perfect, and complete enlightenment, with the qualities and adornments of the Buddha-field being inconceivable, is a great gain for you." After speaking thus, the Dragon King Ocean said to King Ajatashatru: "Great King, no dharma can be predicted. Why is that? Because all dharmas are pure from the very beginning." The King said: "Lord of the Dragons, are those who have previously planted virtuous roots also not to be predicted?" The Dragon King Ocean said: "Great King, the imputation of sentient beings is limited to the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. And the aggregates, elements, and sense bases are not to be predicted. Great King, sentient beings are merely imputed to name and form, but name and form are not to be predicted. If sentient beings are merely imputed from causes, views, perceptions, and attention, then causes, views, perceptions, and attention

There is no prediction for doing that either. Those roots of virtue by which Bodhisattvas perfectly accomplish omniscience, those roots of virtue are also without prediction. Great King, all dharmas are characterized by emptiness, and emptiness is without prediction. Great King, all dharmas are characterized by being without signs, without aspirations, and without activity, and the characteristic of being without signs, without aspirations, and without activity is without prediction. Great King, furthermore, the great compassion of the Buddhas is inconceivable, for they show all nameless and signless dharmas with names and signs, and the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are not those who have consciousness that follows after names and signs. Great King, this prediction is merely worldly convention, for here, neither internally nor externally, is any dharma found that can be predicted. The king said: Lord of the Nagas, is there no prediction for the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has obtained patience? He said: Great King, that patience is also momentary, characterized by cessation, having the limit of non-cessation, determined at the true limit, having the limit of equality, determined at the limit of non-duality; the limit of non-duality is the true limit; the true limit is the limit of never arising. What has a limit are desire, hatred, and delusion. Their limit is the limit of liberation. Whoever enters the door of that limit has no attachment anywhere. Whoever has no attachment is not attached to the conventions of terminology. If there is no attachment, there will be liberation. If there is liberation, there will be no wandering at all. If there is no wandering at all, there will be no falling anywhere. If intelligence does not decline, one will surely see emergence from all things, and just as one does not see, so also one sees. When one does not see, then one does not differentiate duality. If one abides in non-duality, one enters into equality. If one enters into equality, one will not become high or low. If there is neither high nor low, then

Having obtained forbearance that is completely distinguished by the dharma of emptiness itself. Here, what is forbearance? What is prophecy? What is to be prophesied? Who prophesies? Why prophesies? All those dharmas are determined in the realm of dharma of dharma equality and dharma of no dharma, without designation, without arising, separated from entity and non-entity, having fully measured the meaning of those with non-dual limits. No dharma is counted. For example, the sky is uncountable and has completely transcended counting. Likewise, all dharmas should be viewed as similar to that. When this teaching of the Dragon King Sea was spoken, two hundred bodhisattvas obtained forbearance in the dharma of non-arising. Two hundred monks, without taking, their minds were completely liberated from the defilements. Then, King Ajatasatru said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the eloquence of the Dragon King Sea is wonderful! The Blessed One said: Great King, this eloquence is not very wonderful, nor is it very difficult. If those who are beginners, when they hear this teaching, are not afraid, do not panic, and do not become agitated, this is the most wonderful and most difficult for them. Why is that? Because the enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, is so difficult to believe that the world with the gods will not enter, will not go, will not believe, will not have faith. Great King, in this way, those beings who are not afraid, do not panic, and do not become agitated by this profound dharma that is taught, it should be known that they have served many Buddhas. Great King, what do you think? If someone shows the sky, which is formless and invisible, as having form, is that doing something difficult? He said: Blessed One, it is extremely difficult. Sugata, it is extremely difficult. He said: A dharma like this is so profound, appears profound, all feelings have ceased, without self, without beings, without life,
