Just as a person who has not performed the work of offering jewels will not find jewels and needs will not arise, so too, by not contemplating and thinking about these, one cannot be liberated from the three realms. Having done the work of offering, just as those who have accumulated especially, greatly accumulated, and slightly accumulated, the need for jewels also arises in three stages, so too, examining the correct and non-inverted and the remaining four, the three vehicles of great and small are also like the example of the sequence. What is the example of the twelve categories of scriptures and the five limits of examining the Dharma that I have spoken of? It is shown by the water flowing into the ocean from the four directions. The four rivers from the four directions, with many branches, flow from the four directions, and it is similar to flowing from the great ocean, so the ocean is the source of all the water flowing from the four directions. It is the general. Similarly, although the five limits of examining the Dharma are different, they rely on the twelve categories of scriptures that I have spoken of, so the twelve categories of scriptures are the basis. It is the general. Manjushri, you say this, like these five limits of examining the Dharma, will there also be people who think separately in the future? Now, when I show the self-nature of all dharmas as they are, even the assembled retinues think separately like this, let alone if I become different after nirvana, it will become very much more. Manjushri, after I pass into nirvana, between five hundred, nine hundred, one thousand nine hundred, two thousand, and two thousand five hundred years, people who think separately about these five limits of examining the Dharma will appear in sequence. Manjushri, you say this, will the people who study these five limits of examining the Dharma not argue about whether they are meaningful or not? In the future, five hundred years after I pass into nirvana, they will argue, and at that time, due to the size of people's inclinations and wisdom, regardless of whether they understand the meaning correctly or not, they will definitely consider what is not meaningful to themselves as certain, and also deny what is meaningful to others, and then argue. Those who sit and listen in front of others will also not take sides according to the meaning.

Become bound by territory and biased towards relatives and friends. Those who understand the true meaning will not argue in order to explain to those who do not understand, but will argue in order to criticize and suppress. They will ask, 'How do you see the essence of this matter?' When the other person answers, even if the meaning is not wrong, they will quote other scriptures to argue. They will distort the other person's words and proclaim wrong views. They will think, what does it matter if only I understand and others do not? They proclaim for fame and gain, not for Bodhi. After saying this, Manjushri reported: World Honored One, if these five ways of observing the Dharma arise differently on the same basis of the Dharma, then what is the basis of this Dharma? How does observation lead to error? What is its unerring self-nature? The World Honored One taught: Manjushri, the basis is the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. If these illusory nominal appearances are clung to as permanent and unchanging, that is error. If one denies the unborn nature of things and clings to them as non-existent, that is also error. The unerring basis of its self-nature is the unborn nature of all dharmas. He reported: If there is no basis for the error of the object, then how is it that 'the object appears as an error'? He taught: Dharmas are illusory, merely nominal appearances, and the error of consciousness will not cling to this. If one does not understand the unborn nature of dharmas and clings to the erroneous appearance of permanence and immutability, then the error of consciousness will appear as the object. Why is this? Because if someone clings to dharmas as permanent and unchanging, they will wander in samsara. Once wandering in samsara, there will be aggregates, elements, and sense bases. If these exist, one will experience happiness and suffering. If one understands the unborn nature of dharmas and eliminates the clinging to the permanence and immutability of the entities of dharmas, as well as the two extremes of annihilation, one can attain unsurpassed complete enlightenment. Attaining complete enlightenment, one can obtain the excellent marks, good marks, and pure Buddha land.

To whom shall I appear? Manjushri, in short, because one does not understand that the nature of phenomena is unborn, and clings to all phenomena as permanent and unchanging, therefore one wanders in samsara. The appearance of all phenomena is said to be the appearance of mental delusion. Initially, like space, there is nothing, and it is not due to the power of mental delusion that all phenomena appear. Manjushri, with the two, pure and impure, samsara and nirvana appear, and the realm is also said to be the appearance of mind. After thus speaking, all the assembled retinue rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One. The Sutra of the Appearance of All Differences Without Moving from the Nature of Dharma Itself is complete. The Indian Abbot Danashila and the Pandit Yeshe De translated, revised, and finalized it. It is said that Danashila said that all the treatises of the Tripitaka and the various views of Madhyamaka originate from this. The Noble Sutra of the Appearance of All Differences Without Moving from the Emptiness of the Nature of Dharma Itself.
