Even if one does not speculate on the nature of numbers and classifications, some might say, "Why do these assembled retinues have such different beliefs and speculations?" This is because of the influence of learning and not learning, and because of the magnitude of faith. The Buddhas, because of their immeasurable learning and accumulation, are without effort, and the very nature of reality itself is unwavering and unique. This is the realm of all Buddhas. For those who have learned extensively and those who have learned a little, what is correct and incorrect is obtained through transmission. Therefore, beliefs and speculations will differ. Manjushri, you say this: Are these five ultimate views on the investigation of the Dharma all correct? Or are some correct and some not correct? It is said that all five ultimate views on the investigation of the Dharma are considered to be correct. Some think that all dharmas exist as they appear and teach such dharmas. Why? Because the four elements and what is made by them exist differently, like illusions. Some think that all dharmas are only mind and nothing else, and teach such dharmas. Why? Because the habit of clinging to various dharmas as permanent and unchanging is left in the mind, and by the power of this, at all times, what appears as self and dharmas is only a nominal appearance, but in reality has no self-nature, because it is only mind. Some think that mind itself is also unborn, and teach us such dharmas. Why? Because it has no shape, color, three times, or beginning and end. Some think that all dharmas appear like illusions, but are not established like illusions, and teach such dharmas. Why? Because all dharmas arise and occur from causes and conditions. Some think that all dharmas are unborn by nature, do not abide by essence, are separated from all ends of action and activity, are beyond speculation and the object of speculation, and are dharmas that are completely pure from elaboration from beginningless time, and teach such dharmas. Why? Because the very nature of all dharmas is that which is truly non-inverted.

So it is. Manjushri, some also grasp as not being true, due to the conceptualizations of those with little learning, weak faith, and shallow wisdom. Some are realized by those with moderate learning, faith, and wisdom. The rest is true, it is the supreme realization. Manjushri, you say, are the attainments of liberation the same through these five limits of examining the Dharma? I think that from the true realization of supreme wisdom, the other four, through the differences of each being transmitted, have differences of near and far, but the attainment of liberation is seen as the same. Manjushri, you say, are there types of individuals among these five limits of examining the Dharma? Both the Lesser Vehicle lineage and the Great Vehicle lineage should, through four of the five limits of examining the Dharma, in the remaining one, realize the Buddha's realm of activity, truly and without inversion. Manjushri, you say, What is the example of the agreement that appears different among these five limits of examining the Dharma? The example of realizing differently on one basis of Dharma is shown by the rising of the sun in Jambudvipa. When the sun rises in Jambudvipa, rising from the sky of forty thousand yojanas, people each think that it rises from their own city and this mountain. Similarly, these assembled retinues now each realize on one basis of Dharma. Each sees differently. Each grasps differently. Manjushri, when there is no discriminating examination, just as the sun does not rise from the mountain of one's own city, so too, these limits of examining the Dharma also appear as not relying on the true and non-inverted realm of activity of the Buddhas, but relying on the other four. Manjushri, just as the sun does not truly rise from the mountain of one's own city, so too, these four appear as the order of wisdom of the means of realization, but the meaning is not the truth itself. Manjushri, the example of attaining the same liberation from these five examinations is shown by the wish-fulfilling jewel. That wish-fulfilling jewel also has the difference of beings relying on it and doing deeds and not doing deeds. Individuals with no conceptualization and wrong conceptualization do not rely on the five limits of examining the Dharma.
