Son of good family, therefore listen well and keep it in mind, and I shall speak. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Jewel Radiance addressed the Bhagavan, saying: Thus it is, O Blessed One. And listened to the Bhagavan's teachings. The Bhagavan spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Jewel Radiance: Son of good family, from here towards the southeast, passing through countless Buddhafields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, there is a world called Lotus, adorned with various qualities, adorned with various flowers, pervaded by various fragrances, adorned with trees of jewels, and filled everywhere with lotuses of jewels. There, the ground is made of blue beryl, filled everywhere with Bodhisattvas, and pervaded by the sound of Dharma. That ground made of beryl, like Kacalindika, is comfortable and soft to the touch. When a foot is placed on it, it sinks about four fingers, and when the foot is lifted, it returns to its original state, and it is filled everywhere with various lotuses. There are trees of seven jewels, about seven yojanas in height. Those trees are adorned with celestial garments of reddish-brown color, and also emit pleasing sounds of celestial music. When the leaves of those trees touch each other, they emit sounds of celestial five-fold music that far surpass the heavens. All those places have stables on all four sides. Inside those stables, outside the multi-storied buildings, there are ponds that are eighty yojanas long and fifty yojanas wide. Around those ponds on all four sides, there are also staircases made of the seven precious substances. Those ponds are also completely covered with Utpala flowers and lotuses all around, and each flower is about one yojana wide. From the stamens of those flowers, many Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are born. They are born from the stamens of those lotuses in the first watch of the night, and experiencing the joy and happiness of liberation, they spend the night in the lotus posture. Then, at dawn during that night, fragrant, pleasing, soft, and comfortable-to-touch winds rise from all four directions, and they cause the closed flowers to bloom. Those Bodhisattvas also rise from that samadhi, abandon the joy and happiness of liberation, descend from the stamens of the lotuses, enter the multi-storied buildings, sit in the lotus posture on the cushions of the seven precious substances, and listen to the Dharma. Around those trees and multi-storied buildings on all four sides, there are mountains of Jambu River gold that are twenty yojanas high and three yojanas wide. Between those mountains, there appear crystal, fire crystal, Andanila, and hundreds of thousands of star-colored jewels. When the light of the Lotus Supreme Buddha shines on the mountains and jewels, the light of the Buddha and the light of the jewels cause that lotus world to always be pervaded by vast light. There, the light of the sun and moon also becomes invisible. Furthermore, when the lotuses close and the sounds of the birds become small, that time is counted as night, and the opposite is day. The branches, leaves, and petals were well-situated within a thousand yojanas. Beneath that Bodhi Tree, there was a lotus tree made of silver, with a trunk five hundred yojanas high, and its petals were made of gold, numbering billions and trillions, each five yojanas high. In all the stamens, there were precious jewel-essence pollens. The stamens were made of the seven precious substances, ten yojanas high and seven yojanas wide. There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Lotus Supreme attained the Unsurpassed, Perfect, and Complete Enlightenment. Around the Buddha's lotus seat, there were also lotuses, upon which bodhisattvas sat, and they beheld the miracles of the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Lotus Supreme. Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Jewel Light said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, what kind of great miracles did the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Lotus Supreme display? Having spoken thus, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Jewel Light: Son of good family, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Lotus Supreme attained the Unsurpassed, Perfect, and Complete Enlightenment in the last watch of last night, and this morning, at the time of dawn, he manifested such miracles, emanating himself up to the Brahma World, and from the crown of his head, he emitted billions and trillions of rays of light.
