Third, the chapter on supremely pure wisdom. Third, the chapter on supremely pure wisdom. Then, the Bodhisattva Supremely Pure Wisdom said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, for what reason did the Blessed One say that the ultimate truth is subtle, profound, and that the nature of being completely beyond difference and non-difference is difficult to realize? It is wonderful how well the Blessed One has spoken. Blessed One, in one place here, I see a great many Bodhisattvas who have entered the stage of practice through faith. For example, based on actions and the difference and non-difference of ultimate truth, they exist with each other, gather after existing, and then some Bodhisattvas say there that the nature of actions and the nature of ultimate truth are not different. Some say that the nature of actions and the nature of ultimate truth are not non-different, but that the nature of actions and the nature of ultimate truth are different. Some have doubtful wisdom, and some are hesitant, saying that some say that the nature of actions and the nature of ultimate truth are different. Some say that the nature of actions and the nature of ultimate truth are not different. Among these Bodhisattvas, who is speaking without meaning, who is speaking falsely, who has entered properly, and who has entered improperly? Blessed One, I think that all these sons of good families are like this: they do not understand the subtle nature of ultimate truth, actions, and being completely beyond difference and non-difference. They are foolish, confused, unclear, unskilled, and have all entered improperly. After this request, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Supremely Pure Wisdom: Supremely Pure Wisdom, it is just so, it is just so. Sons of good families, they are all

Thus, those who do not understand the subtle characteristics of the ultimate reality as being different from phenomena, and as being truly beyond the nature of non-difference, are merely childish, ignorant, unclear, unskilled, and engaged in improper ways. Why is that? Because, for those with extremely pure wisdom, such separate discernment of phenomena does not lead to the realization of the ultimate reality, nor does it directly manifest the ultimate reality. Why is that? For those with extremely pure wisdom, if the nature of phenomena and the nature of the ultimate reality were not different, then all ordinary beings would also become seers of truth. While remaining ordinary beings, they would also attain accomplishment and the unsurpassed bliss of nirvana. They would also fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. If the nature of phenomena and the nature of the ultimate reality were different, then even those who see the truth would not be separated from the characteristics of phenomena. Because they are not separated from the characteristics of phenomena, those who see the truth would also not be liberated from the bonds of characteristics. If they are not liberated from the bonds of characteristics, then they would also not be liberated from the bonds of negative states. If they are not liberated from these two bonds, then those who see the truth would also not attain accomplishment and the unsurpassed bliss of nirvana. They would also not fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. For what reason, O you of extremely pure wisdom, are ordinary beings not seers of truth? While remaining ordinary beings, they also do not attain accomplishment and the unsurpassed bliss of nirvana. They do not fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, therefore it is not permissible to say that the nature of phenomena and the nature of the ultimate reality are not different. Those who say that the nature of phenomena and the nature of the ultimate reality are not different, from that perspective, you are engaged in improper ways, and it should be known that you are not engaged in proper ways. For what reason, O you of extremely pure wisdom,
