恒常以威力超胜, 众魔纵多亦不能胜。 彼菩萨之行持, 世间怙主曾亲口, 为此作授记,闻此已, 狮子心中生欢喜。 狮子与友伴一道, 如是语出此言词: 于此所示之行持, 我等当随之修学。 其后佛陀展笑颜, 三千世界皆震动, 无热恼请问佛陀: 为何缘故而展笑? 祈请大雄作授记。 如是请问启请已, 佛陀对无热恼言: 因何缘故而展笑, 无热恼汝从我谛听。 八十俱胝之佛陀, 以及其他十万俱胝, 为菩提义而聚集, 供养人中之导师。 圆满正觉二足尊, 自燃灯佛陀起, 此等婆罗门童子, 我已令其悉成熟。 名为大光明之, 贤劫美妙将出现, 彼等一劫之中, 将成调伏引导者。 名为智慧分别幢, 将成世间之导师, 如无量光之庄严, 彼等之刹土亦如是。 自慈氏开始算起, 圆满三百劫之间, 于彼等期间之一切时, 恒常得遇诸佛陀。 此等获得菩提之, 名号凡是听闻者, 彼等一切于世间, 将成无等普知者。 何人听闻此授记, 而生起信解之心者, 此等三千世界中, 无有能与彼等同福德。 若人于六千劫中, 所有佛陀之刹土中, 以众宝充满而布施, 为菩提之因于此奉献。 何人听闻此法类, 听后为菩提而趣入, 较之先前所说之福德, 数量及雨点亦不能及。 宣说此法之时, 以世间怙主之威力, 诸天降下鲜花雨, 三千世界亦震动。 狮子与友伴一道, 获得五种神通后, 于七日间作供养,

Constantly surpassing with power, Demons, even in multitudes, cannot withstand. That conduct of the Bodhisattva, The Protector of the World has explicitly, Prophesied this, having heard this, The lion's mind becomes joyful. The lion, together with its companions, Uttered these words: To this conduct that has been shown, We shall follow and learn. Then the Buddha smiled, And the three thousand worlds shook. Mafampa asked the Buddha: For what reason do you smile? Great Sage, please prophesy. Having made such a request, The Buddha said to Mafampa: For what reason I smiled, Mafampa, listen to me. Eighty crore Buddhas, And also ten trillion crore, Gathered for the sake of enlightenment, Offering to the guides of humans. The perfect Buddha, the best of bipeds, From Dipankara Buddha onwards, These Brahmin boys, I have fully ripened them. A beautiful aeon called "Great Light," Will appear, In that one aeon, They will become guides for taming. Named "Banner of Wisdom Discrimination," They will become guides of the world, Like the arrangement of Amitabha, Their realms will also be like that. Starting from Maitreya, Completing three hundred aeons, During that time, They will always meet Buddhas. Whoever hears the names Of those who have attained enlightenment, All of them in the world, Will become unequaled omniscient beings. Whoever, having heard this prophecy, Generates faith, In these three thousand worlds, There is no merit equal to that. Whoever, for six thousand aeons, In all Buddha fields, Fills them with jewels, And offers them here for the sake of enlightenment, Whoever hears this Dharma discourse, And then enters for the sake of enlightenment, The merit of what was previously mentioned, Cannot be reached by numbers or raindrops. At the time of explaining this Dharma, By the power of the Protector of the World, The gods shower flowers, And the three thousand worlds shake. Sa. They who have fully renounced and entered the Dharma, all of them will attain samadhi. They will also attain inexhaustible dharanis. They will work for the benefit of sentient beings, leading them into the Buddha's Dharma. When this Dharma discourse was taught, eighty billion hundred thousand kotis of beings entered into unsurpassed bodhi. After the Blessed One had spoken thus, the world, including the lion and its retinue, gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said. The thirty-seventh chapter, entitled "The Chapter of the Lion's Questions," from the section of the Dharma Categories of the Great Heap of Jewels Sutra, which contains one hundred thousand chapters, is complete. Translated and revised by the Indian Abbot Danaśīla, Munivarma, and the reviser and translator, the monk Yeshé Dé, and finalized with newly coined terms. The Noble Sutra Requested by Lion, called The Great Vehicle Sutra.
