Ra. The Dharma spoken by the Sugata, the gods have no doubts about it, for the sake of liberating all beings, they seek the unsurpassed Bodhi. Those with Bodhi minds, those with pure minds, please let the supreme being generate joy. Having heard this, for the sake of benefiting all beings, one will attain unsurpassed Bodhi. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan, having understood the superior intention of the forty kotis of gods of the strife-free class, smiled at that time. Then, the venerable Aśvajit asked the Bhagavan in verse: Benefiting the world, why do you smile? Your retinue will become doubtful. Supreme among men, please explain the reason for the smile, so that this retinue may be greatly pleased. If the gods hear that prophecy, this retinue will be very happy and satisfied. On this very doctrine endowed with reason, they will diligently strive and practice. Victorious One, your retinue is supreme, the great sage remembers the qualities of the Buddha. In order to gather these beings, please speak well the pleasant words. If the power of the Buddha's qualities is heard, it will greatly benefit all beings. If that prophecy of the Sugata is heard, the wise will practice accordingly. Supreme among men, best of speakers, please kindly resolve the knots of doubt here. All the retinues are happy and eager to hear, please declare the prophecy of the gods. Everyone respectfully listens attentively, with great joy in your prophecy, having completely abandoned all obstacles, they listen to it. For the benefit of the world, spoken by the supreme being. Then, the Bhagavan again declared to the venerable Aśvajit in verse: For the benefit of the world, the smile of the wise, Aśvajit, your question is timely. If the power of the Buddha's qualities is heard, it will be for the benefit of the great assembly of people. Those who are weak in mind towards the assembly of Buddha's qualities, those who possess minds of desire and minds of hatred, those who have minds of strife for hundreds of lifetimes, and those who have minds of delusion, will not generate joy. Those who rejoice in the doctrine taught by the Victorious One,

And, whoever has questioned the Buddhas in the past, and whoever possesses great compassion, all of them will possess the qualities of a Buddha. Whoever sees beings afflicted by demons, and the lion among men generates compassion, upon hearing these qualities of the Buddha, they will carry them on their heads like a garland of utpala flowers. My retinue will be exceedingly joyful, having previously served and honored the Buddhas of the past. They will not tire of the qualities of the Buddha, and they will see them as they truly are, like a garland of flowers. The gods free from strife, having served and honored all the Buddhas of the past and abandoned attachment, will subdue their afflictions and possess the wisdom of a Buddha. Possessing compassion and free from afflictions, possessing wisdom, the Buddhas, lions among men, have previously served and honored all the Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. They aspire to unsurpassed enlightenment, and all have performed limitless virtuous deeds. They recognize beings drowning in the mire of afflictions, and generate compassion for those who suffer. Those excellent beings will ask the teacher who benefits beings about limitless Dharma principles. Having heard this, they will guide beings, and they will explain how to enter the Dharma of the guide. They will know well the afflictive behaviors of people, and they will also explain the vast intention to them. Those guides, the supreme individuals, will also explain emptiness, the lack of inherent existence. Having heard the words of the Buddhas, they will thoroughly realize that all beings are empty. If asked what is empty, it is empty of the aspect of characteristics, proclaiming the absence of inherent existence and the absence of characteristics. Having understood the Dharma of the Buddhas in this way, all will abide in the qualities of the Buddha. To whomever they have made vast offerings, I have prophesied in accordance with the Dharma, that in an excellent eon like a cluster of stars, they will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. They will be filled with countless, incomparable Sugatas, twenty times twenty. They will enter into a number called "pure intelligence," and they will tame countless beings. The thoughts of the gods abiding in freedom from strife, as requested by Horse Tamer, the Buddhas, conquerors of enemies, the great sages, prophesied, delighting the world together with the gods. The Sixteenth Chapter, Prophecy of the Strife-Free.
