Chapter Sixteen: The Prophecy of the Non-Contention Chapter Sixteen: The Prophecy of the Non-Contention Then, at that time, forty crore gods of non-contention, from the Asuras to the gods of the Thirty-Three, saw offerings and heard prophecies, and were satisfied, pleased, and delighted. They felt great joy and peace of mind, knowing that the Blessed One had no obstacles in prophecy, and that the Buddha's teachings were delightful. If they were attained, there would be no ignorance, no non-seeing, no non-realization, no non-manifestation, no birth, no cessation, no karma, no ripening of karma, and so on. Thus, they developed a desire for the Buddha's teachings. In this way, the Tathagata comprehended both conventional truth and ultimate truth. What is to be known is exhausted in these conventional and ultimate truths.
