Second, the chapter on the secret of the Bodhisattva's speech. Second, the chapter on the secret of the Bodhisattva's speech. Volume Two. Furthermore, the secret lord Vajrapani said to the Bodhisattva Peaceful Wisdom: Peaceful Wisdom, what is the secret of the Bodhisattva's speech, and what is the complete purification of the work of speech? Peaceful Wisdom, as many birthplaces as there are for sentient beings, so many are the rebirths of the Bodhisattva. As many rebirths as there are for the Bodhisattva, so many are the understandings of sound. For those sentient beings' expressions of sound, expressions of the path of words, affirmative words, indications, speaking, speaking correctly, signs, behaviors, expressions of happiness and suffering, all those understandings of sound, the Bodhisattva's wisdom vision enters without obstruction. Even for the sounds of worms, bees, flesh flies, and butterflies, the wisdom vision enters. How does one proclaim the various kinds of knowledge of sound, so that the bodies of those sentient beings become extremely subdued, and their minds become extremely subdued, such that they are born? The Bodhisattva utters such knowledge of sound from his mouth. This is the Dharma nature, and it should be said thus: Just as there is no end to sentient beings, so too are the rebirths immeasurable. Even if one speaks for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, there is no end. How can one speak of those countless deeds? Without faults, the words of great self-nature, which greatly show the mind and hundreds of thousands of thoughts, like the sky, without fullness or depletion, yet I will speak of meaningful metaphors. Peaceful Wisdom, the Bodhisattva's words can emit the sound of Brahma, the sound of Indra, the sound of the world protectors, as well as the sounds of gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, and all sentient beings, and can satisfy the minds of all sentient beings. It should be said thus: The words of great self-natured ones are without inferiority, without fullness or depletion.

Like the absence of space, the mind and hundreds of thousands of thoughts manifest, listen attentively to all their expressions. Combine with loving-kindness and enter into compassion, joy and equanimity are also explained, surpassing even Brahma, a sound is produced, the excellent speech satisfies even Brahma. Whatever delightful sounds of Indra's music there are, they are all subdued by the power of its sound. From the arising of musical sounds, immeasurable distinctions of the Dharma arise. Whatever sounds of non-humans there are, superior to them is its supremely perfect sound. It does not ignite the flames of desire, but its words make all beings happy. Whatever delightful sounds there are in the desire realm, the sounds of music and the sounds of many gods, endowed with the benefits and virtues of the Dharma, its words satisfy all beings. Having heard the words of the guide of humans, desire is pacified and hatred is completely calmed. Ignorance, agitation, pride, and arrogance are pacified, the meanings are settled and there is no doubt. Wherever the gods dwell in the form realm, their minds are satisfied by it. Having heard the words of the chief of humans, the world becomes enlightened and bodhi increases. The sounds of various musical instruments of gandharvas and large-bellied beings in the sky, the sound proclaimed with the ocean of qualities, creates great joy for all. In this Jambudvipa, in various different directions, although there are countless sounds and languages, when the nature of its sound is proclaimed, those who hear it attain liberation. How do the sounds of the gods of the earth and the gods of the sky enter? Likewise, its sound also enters into it. With that sound, even the words of separation are gathered. Faith, cranes, kalavinkas, peacocks, parrots, cuckoos, wren-warblers, mountain partridges, and geese, all are satisfied by its sound. Tigers and lions, as well as bears and monkeys, leopards and cats, deer, musk deer, and wild oxen, horses and dogs, pigs and owls, all are satisfied by its sound. Whatever four-legged and two-legged beings, many-legged and also footless beings, for the purpose of encouragement, cutting off, punishment, and benefit, all beings understand its sound. Whatever sentient beings in the three thousand worlds, whether superior, middling, or inferior, hells, pre-
