Chapter Thirteen: Inconceivable Chapter Thirteen: Inconceivable Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is profound! The mother of the Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with great deeds. The mother of the Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with inconceivable deeds, unequaled deeds, immeasurable deeds, countless deeds, unequal and equal deeds." The Blessed One declared: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with great deeds. Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with great deeds. Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with inconceivable deeds, unequaled deeds, immeasurable deeds, countless deeds, unequal and equal deeds." Subhuti, how is it that this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with inconceivable deeds? Subhuti, the very nature of the Tathagata, the very nature of the Buddha, the very nature of the Self-Born, the very nature of the All-Knowing, are inconceivable. Subhuti, thus, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with inconceivable deeds, because it cannot be conceived by the mind. Why is this so? Because neither mind, nor thought, nor mental phenomena arising from the mind are allowed to enter into this. Subhuti, how is it that this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with unequaled deeds? Subhuti, the Tathagata, with the very nature of the Tathagata, the very nature of the Buddha, the very nature of the Self-Born, the very nature of the All-Knowing, cannot be conceived or equaled. Subhuti, thus, this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with unequaled deeds. Subhuti, how is it that this Prajnaparamita is closely associated with immeasurable deeds? Subhuti, the very nature of the Tathagata, the very nature of the Buddha, the very nature of the Self-Born, the very nature of the All-Knowing, is immeasurable. Subhuti, thus, this Prajnaparamita is

It is close because of its immeasurable activity. Subhuti, how does this Perfection of Wisdom draw near because of countless activities? Subhuti, the very nature of the Tathagata, the very nature of the Buddha, the very nature of the Self-born, the very nature of the All-Knowing are countless. Subhuti, thus, this Perfection of Wisdom draws near because of countless activities. Subhuti, how does this Perfection of Wisdom draw near because of unequal and equal activities? Subhuti, for the very nature of the Tathagata, the very nature of the Buddha, the very nature of the Self-born, the very nature of the All-Knowing, there is not even equality, what need to mention superiority? Subhuti, thus, this Perfection of Wisdom draws near because of unequal and equal activities. The venerable Subhuti asked: Blessed One, is the very nature of the Tathagata inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal? Likewise, is the very nature of the Buddha, likewise the very nature of the Self-born, likewise the very nature of the All-Knowing, inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, unequal and equal? Or, is form also inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal? Likewise, are feeling, perception, and formations. Or, is consciousness also inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal? Or, are all dharmas also inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal? After asking thus, The Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, form is also inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal. Subhuti, likewise, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also inconceivable, without equal, immeasurable, countless, unequal and equal.

Subhuti, whatever is the dharmata of form, therein, there is no mind, no consciousness, no mental phenomena, therefore, one should not think. Subhuti, similarly, whatever is the dharmata of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, therein, there is no mind, no consciousness, no mental phenomena, therefore, one should not think. Subhuti, whatever is the dharmata of all dharmas, therein, there is no mind, no consciousness, no mental phenomena, therefore, one should not think. Subhuti, thus, form is also inconceivable and incomparable. Subhuti, similarly, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also inconceivable and incomparable. Subhuti, similarly, all dharmas are also inconceivable and incomparable. Subhuti, form is also immeasurable. Subhuti, similarly, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also immeasurable. Subhuti, all dharmas are also immeasurable. Why is that? Subhuti, the measure of form is unknowable. Subhuti, similarly, the measure of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness is unknowable. Subhuti, the measure of all dharmas is also unknowable. Subhuti, why is the measure of form completely unknowable? Similarly, feeling, perception, and formation. Subhuti, why is the measure of consciousness completely unknowable? Subhuti, why is the measure of all dharmas also completely unknowable? Subhuti, form has no measure. Subhuti, similarly, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness have no measure. Subhuti, all dharmas also have no measure. Subhuti, why does form have no measure? Subhuti, why similarly feeling, perception, and formation? Subhuti, why does consciousness have no measure? Subhuti, why do all dharmas have no measure? Subhuti, because all dharmas are without measure. Subhuti, form is also countless. Subhuti, similarly, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also countless. Subhuti, all dharmas are also countless, because they are beyond enumeration.
