And practices the desire, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path, and thoroughly familiarizes with the path of enlightenment. And practices the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the gradual abiding absorptions, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhi, the doors of dharani, the powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, and the unshared qualities of the Buddha, and thoroughly familiarizes with the path of enlightenment. And practices up to the all-knowingness, and thoroughly familiarizes with the path of enlightenment. And also thoroughly knows that the path of enlightenment is the nature of non-things. That Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the six perfections, and until he has not become endowed with the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four separate correct knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, great love, great compassion, and all-knowingness, he thoroughly familiarizes with that path of enlightenment. Subhuti, that is the path of the Bodhisattva, abiding in that path, he perfects all the perfections. Having perfected all the perfections, with the wisdom of possessing a single instant, he will attain all-knowingness. At that time, all the connecting afflictions of those habits will also be completely abandoned by not arising. When he looks with the Buddha's eye at the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, if he does not even see non-things, what need is there to speak of seeing things? Subhuti, when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he completely gives alms, and even though he completely gives alms in this way, he does not make a sign of thought, nor does he pay attention to things that exist or things that do not exist.

It is also like that. When accepting, do not make it a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. When giving up, do not make it a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. The mind of Bodhi is also not an object of focus, do not make it a characteristic, do not make it a realm, and do not truly see it. When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, guard the precepts, cultivate patience, exert effort, become accustomed to meditation, and cultivate wisdom. Even when cultivating wisdom in this way, do not make it a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. The cultivation of that wisdom is also not made into a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. For the sake of which sentient beings that wisdom is cultivated, do not make them into characteristics, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. Between the emptiness of the interior and the emptiness of the nature of non-existence, as well as the mindfulness, the right abandonments, the feet of miracles, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhi, the doors of dharani, The powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the individual correct knowledges, the unmixed qualities of the Buddha, up to the all-knowingness, when practicing, do not make the all-knowingness a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. Up to the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, do not make it a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not existing. For those who attain perfect enlightenment, and those who will attain perfect enlightenment, and by what means the perfect enlightenment is attained, do not make it a non-discriminating characteristic, and do not think of things as existing or not

Now, it is not done. Why is that? Like this, all dharmas are of the nature of non-substantiality. Those were not made even by the Buddhas. They were not done even by the Pratyekabuddhas and the Hearers. All dharmas are without a maker, separated from a maker. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, if that is so, are dharmas separated from dharmas themselves? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, dharmas are separated from dharmas themselves. Asked: Blessed One, if it is so that dharmas are separated from dharmas themselves, how can one fully know whether a dharma says to a dharma that there is a substance, or says that there is no substance? Blessed One, a dharma that is without substance cannot fully know a dharma that is without substance, and a dharma that has substance also cannot fully know a dharma that has substance. A dharma that is without substance also cannot know a dharma that has substance, and a dharma that has substance also cannot know a dharma that is without substance. Thus, since all dharmas are not fully known, how could a Bodhisattva Mahasattva even think of whether there is substance or there is no substance? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, by holding onto the conventional truth of the world, shows that there is substance or that there is no substance, but in the ultimate truth, it is not so. Asked: Blessed One, what is it? Is the conventional truth of the world something else, and is the ultimate truth also something else? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, there is also no saying that the conventional truth of the world is something else, and the ultimate truth is also something else. Whatever is the suchness of the conventional truth of the world, that itself is the suchness of the ultimate truth. However, those sentient beings have become inverted, so they do not know or see that suchness. For the sake of those sentient beings, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva speaks of there being substance or of there being no substance through the conventional truth of the world.

Furthermore, Subhuti, if there are beings who are attached to the five aggregates as having substance and do not know that they are without substance, for the sake of those beings, one should well distinguish the dharmas and hold them in mind, so that they may also know how they are without substance. Thus it is said. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should practice the Perfection of Wisdom in this way. The Twenty-five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Fifty-four is complete. Chapter Fifty-four.
