After contemplating thus, "O Bhagavan, I rejoice in the minds generated by those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have newly entered the vehicle in this way; I also rejoice in the minds generated by those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have been practicing for a long time; I rejoice in the minds generated by those irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas; I rejoice in the minds generated by those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who are bound by one more birth. If a son or daughter of good family rejoices in these, how much will their merit increase?" After asking this, the Bhagavan said to the Lord of the Gods, Indra: "Kauśika, even if the world of the four great continents could be measured by the size of a hair tip, the merit of the mind of those who rejoice in them and possess the mind of enlightenment is immeasurable. Kauśika, even if a thousand worlds could be measured by the size of a hair tip, the merit of the mind of those who rejoice in them and possess the mind of enlightenment is immeasurable. Kauśika, even if two thousand worlds could be measured by the size of a hair tip, the merit of the mind of those who rejoice in them and possess the mind of enlightenment is immeasurable. Kauśika, even if the three thousand great thousand worlds could be measured by the size of a hair tip, the merit of the mind of those who rejoice in them and possess the mind of enlightenment is immeasurable. Kauśika, even if the great oceans of the three thousand great thousand worlds, with all their masses of water, could be measured by taking a drop of water the size of one part of a hair divided into a hundred parts, the merit of the mind of those who rejoice in them and possess the mind of enlightenment is immeasurable." After saying this, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, asked the Bhagavan: "O Bhagavan, I rejoice in those who generate the mind..."

Those sentient beings who do not rejoice in the aspirations of others are blessed by demons. World Honored One, those sentient beings who do not rejoice in the aspirations of those who have generated the mind of enlightenment become the retinue of demons. World Honored One, those sentient beings who do not rejoice in the aspirations of those who have generated the mind of enlightenment transmigrate from the realm of demons. Why is that? World Honored One, those sentient beings who cultivate this aspiration and dedicate it to the complete attainment of unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment destroy the realm of demons. Those sentient beings who generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment are those who rejoice. Those who have not abandoned the Buddha, have not abandoned the Dharma, and have not abandoned the Sangha, their aspirations are those to be rejoiced in. Having rejoiced, dedicate it to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, in such a way that it does not transform into a perception of duality, nor does it transform into a perception of non-duality. Thus, dedicate it completely. The World Honored One said: Kauśika (梵文天城体,kauśika,梵文罗马拟音, Kauśika,汉语字面意思:Kauśika), it is so, it is so, just as you have said. Kauśika (梵文天城体,kauśika,梵文罗马拟音, Kauśika,汉语字面意思:Kauśika), those who rejoice in these aspirations will quickly please the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, and having pleased them, they will not regress. Those who possess the roots of virtue of generating the mind of enlightenment with such rejoicing will be served, respected, loved, and worshiped wherever they are born. They will never see unpleasant forms, never hear unpleasant sounds, never smell unpleasant odors, never taste unpleasant flavors, never touch unpleasant sensations, never know unpleasant dharmas, and will never abandon the Buddhas, the World Honored Ones.

They will not be separated from the deceased, and will go from Buddha-field to Buddha-field, and will attend to those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and generate roots of virtue. Why is that? Kausika, it is because, whether it be a son of good family or a daughter of good family, they rejoice in the roots of virtue of those immeasurable, countless, inconceivable Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have newly entered the Great Vehicle, and who have entered into practice, and who are non-regressors, and who are those bound by one lifetime. Those roots of virtue will increase, and will be close to Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. When they awaken to Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment and become Buddhas, they will completely liberate immeasurable, countless, inconceivable sentient beings. Kausika, therefore, whether it be a son of good family or a daughter of good family, they should by all means rejoice in the roots of virtue of those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have newly entered the Great Vehicle without mind and without thought, and dedicate them to Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. They should also rejoice in the roots of virtue of those who practice without mind and without thought, and who are non-regressors, and who are those bound by one lifetime, and dedicate them to Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Twenty-Two. Then, the Venerable Subhuti asked the Bhagavan, "Bhagavan, how does a mind like an illusion awaken to Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment and become a Buddha?" The Bhagavan replied, "Subhuti, what do you think? Have you truly seen a mind like an illusion?" He replied, "Bhagavan, no. Bhagavan, I have not truly seen an illusion, nor have I truly seen a mind like an illusion. Bhagavan."
