Having seen the monks, male lay practitioners, and female lay practitioners, he felt joy in his heart and thought: "The Blessed One has said, 'Monks, there are five kinds of timely giving like this. What are the five? Giving to those who come unexpectedly and to those who have desires is the first time for giving. Giving to the sick and those who care for the sick is the second time for giving. Giving to those who are suffering from bad harvests and poverty is the third time for giving. Whoever it may be, giving the first of the new crops, new fruits, and new produce to those who are endowed with morality and virtue, and then eating it oneself, is the fourth time for giving. Whoever it may be, when there is wind, fog, rain, cold, etc., offering food, porridge, soup, or drink to the Sangha, so that these noble ones may eat it and their bodies will not be wet, their robes will not be rained on, and they will be able to dwell in comfort, is the fifth time for giving.' Thus, for the monks, nuns, male lay practitioners, and female lay practitioners who dwell in various places, to relieve their fatigue from the journey, if the Blessed One allows, I will prepare a meal for them to gather together." Thinking this, he went to where the Blessed One was, approached him, bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down to one side. Having sat down to one side, he said to the Blessed One: "Venerable Blessed One, giving to those who come unexpectedly and dwell in various places is called the first time for giving, and up to dwelling in comfort as before is the fifth time for giving. Since you have spoken of these five times for giving, now for the great offering of the Bodhisattva, the monks, nuns, male lay practitioners, and female lay practitioners who come from various places, who come unexpectedly and are exhausted by the journey, if the Blessed One allows, I will prepare a meal for those who have gathered together."

The Blessed One said: Pile up the mats and leave them, do not take them away. When the meal is completely finished, take everything away. The monks gathered before and after the mealtime, ate other people's food and left. Others who came later did not receive it and felt rushed. The Blessed One said: Sit in order. Many monks gathered together and made a noise, not knowing the time. The Blessed One said: Please announce the time. They immediately said that the time had arrived. After saying that the time had arrived, the Blessed One instructed: Strike the ghanta. Even so, others were still not clear. To this, the Blessed One said: First strike the small ghanta, then strike the ghanta. Even so, others who had gone out during the day did not hear it. The Blessed One said: Put the conch together and blow it, and also beat the drum. This is the fifth verse of the fifth chapter of the Matters Section. In short, there also beat the drum. Then take out the wooden cart, and how to properly inform of the appearance and acquisition of property. Buddha The Blessed One was staying in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti, when the Blessed One instructed: Strike the ghanta, put the conch together, and also beat the drum. They struck the ghanta and then struck it again, which caused disturbance to the sick and those who were working. The Blessed One instructed: When the sick have finished begging for food, and those who are working have also finished eating, then strike the ghanta, put the conch together, and also beat the drum. After the meal was finished, the monks, nuns, lay practitioners, lay women, etc. who were living separately did not leave on their own. The Blessed One said: Take out the wooden cart, it will leave on its own. During the meal, the monks did not know how to distribute the acquired wealth. The Blessed One instructed: Distribute equally according to seniority. Many monks gathered together and made a noise, the Blessed One instructed:
