In Sanskrit: Arya Vajra Ajita Anala Pramohani Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Noble Vajra Invincible, Utterly Bewildering Like Fire, Called Dharani. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One dwelt on the mountain of the Jewel-Peak Multi-storied Mansion, the summit of the snowy mountain valley, like the base and waist of Mount Meru, filled with gold and various jewels, blazing with light. On the wide stone slabs, various jewel lights like rainbows appeared, scattered with fragrant flowers and powders, the inside of the caves and forests were enveloped by many fragrant incense and perfumes. He resided on the supreme mountain adorned with umbrellas, agarwood, powders, bells, and banners. Then, the Blessed One was surrounded by a vast assembly of gods, sons of gods, asuras, wind gods, sons of wind gods, sky-goers, nagas, yakshas, kinnaras, rakshasas, gandharvas, accomplished mantra holders, bhutas, heretics, flesh-eaters, and the visible and invisible hosts of matrikas, forming a circular mandala of five hundred yojanas. There were seventy-five thousand Bodhisattvas, and twenty-five thousand monks. The Blessed One taught the Dharma, dwelling in bliss, listening in bliss, teaching the Dharma that surely liberates from samsara. There, the gods, sons of gods, asuras, sons of asuras, wind gods, sons of wind gods, sky-goers, nagas, yakshas, kinnaras, rakshasas, sons of rakshasas, gandharvas, accomplished mantra holders, bhutas, heretics, flesh-eaters, and the visible and invisible hosts of matrikas, and the hosts of bhutas and the hosts of bhutas wandered about, uttering sounds of clamor, fear, and distress. After they prayed in this way, the Lord, with the supreme wisdom that reveals the vast mandala above all, and endowed with wisdom, activity, and the culmination of activity, having obtained another land from the great earth, being close to the regent, and the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who were empowered to the throne of the Dharma, came merely by being remembered. Having made himself at ease, Vajradhara, you go to the gods, the sons of gods, the asuras, the sons of asuras, the wind gods, the sons of wind gods, the sky-fliers, the sons of sky-fliers, and fulfill the wishes of those who are making sounds and experiencing suffering in the great assembly. Then Vajradhara arose from his seat and went into the midst of the gods, asuras, wind gods, sky-fliers, and hosts of bhutas, and showed himself accordingly, entering into the samadhi called the Vajra Weapon Flame. By means of miraculous power, in the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, flames blazed forth, sparks scattered, and lightning flashed, tormenting the realms of the world. Then, in five great kalpas, by means of dreams, water, and a measure equal to the number of sands in the Ganges River, with splendor, glory, brahmacharya, purity, patience, discipline, asceticism, and the Vajra accomplished by the karma arising from all his own enjoyments, that Vajra was given into the hand of the Bodhisattva Vajrapani. That is the Dharma of the scriptures of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, becoming the expounder, the Dharma of the Arhats, the practitioner of discipline and samadhi, the Paramitas of the Bodhisattvas, the practitioner of discipline, patience, and compassion, one's own Vajra, and the knowledge of the lineage, the mandala, and the manner of recitation, subduing the difficult-to-tame wrathful ones, the powerful ones, Yama, the water god, the evil body, the wind god, and the sky-fliers. Thus, the Bhagavat wrathful ones arising from this cause confusion to the violent ones, bewilder those with illusions, agitate those who hate, destroy the foolish ones, uproot the steadfast ones, burn the vast ones to ashes, straighten the crooked ones, treat the severed ones with compassion, frighten the bhutas, terrify the rakshasas, perfect one's own secret mantras, strike down the secret mantras of others with a stake, and sink.
