Having illness and a new birth is bad. Long, slender frogs, lizards, and fish shapes are bad. A water spring and poisonous tree in the middle of a field are bad. Road tolls, thorns, and barbs are bad. Nine gatherings at the edge of a field are bad. Thirty-one, any kind of land prosperity is fine. Examine the enemies that arise in the four directions. I will explain some of the remedies for them. If an enemy of wood arises in the east, stab it with a knife, iron, or sharp object. On the red earth and red rocks in the south, pour water from nine valleys. If white stones appear in the west, hang colorful flags. Or it is said that placing red stones also works. If an enemy of water arises in the north, pour soil from three mountains. If an enemy of earth arises in the four corners, it is said that planting trees is beneficial. If the land is cracked, building a mani house is beneficial. A sky lantern is the fang of the Lord of Death. Draw a silver cross on a water stone. Consecrate it and place it as a suppressor of earth enemies. It is also effective on the tip of a spear on a cliff. A wooden lantern should have reeds cut off. A water lantern should be welcomed and various soils poured. A wind lantern should be suppressed with stupas and tsha-tshas. Although there are endless remedies like these, the most secret instruction is: Draw a copper makara on an iron base. Place it east of the house or tomb, and it will surely overcome all eastern earth enemies. Draw a lion in silver on a water stone. Place it in the south, and it will be the same. Draw a dragon shape with pigments on a copper base. Place it west of the house or tomb, and it will overcome western enemies. Draw a turtle in gold on a gold stone. Place it in the north, and it will overcome northern earth enemies. The northeast is bad, obtain a vajra. From the place where there is an eastern earth enemy, take a stone and write "Take away the evil." Speak it aloud and place it, and it will be overcome. The southeast is warded off with five kinds of tsha-tshas. The south and southwest will surely be overcome with this as well. It can be overcome with a human symbol like a buttock. The northwest and north are warded off with stupas. Or something that looks like a female vulva, for violations of moral discipline, place a stone Ishvara in that direction, and it will be beneficial. If a mountain lamp looks like a pig facing this way, imprison the stone. It is said that hiding it in that direction will overcome it. In those thirty-two earth target places, whatever is done to houses or tombs, offer incense, golden libations, and tormas. Pray for your wishes and request the land. Examine dreams and observe permission. At that time, you can start building houses or tombs. If it does not appear, then request that land again. Elsewhere, near marked stones or trees, bury ginseng fruit, jewels, grains, and medicines. Place it together with the soil and stones from there. Imagine that place as a delightful garden.
