The three vows, generation and completion stages, meditation and recitation, with one-pointed focus. (Seed syllable: [ཅཾ],caṃ, meaning unclear) There are oral instructions on how to properly practice. From the single lineage of mountain dharma retreat instructions, this is the beginning of a concise compilation of instructions on how to practice the three vows, generation and completion stages, meditation and recitation, with one-pointed focus. Composed by one named Lama Tsondu Gyatso. Although there are many questions and points before and after, due to a severe hand ailment, I am unable to write extensively. Observation and clarity are more important in the sutras, tantras, and treatises. When receiving the three vows, if there is no thought of renunciation, bodhicitta, compassion, etc., then they will not arise as they are. If one receives them with only faith and pure perception, and later, through hearing or practicing the stages, renunciation and altruistic thoughts arise, then those vows become purified, and there is no need to receive them again, etc. This I have heard directly from the mouths of many wise ones such as Akshobhya, and from supreme incarnations. Nowadays, it is customary to settle for just that much. If the four root downfalls are without fault, and one does not abandon and accepts virtuous thoughts, then nowadays, one is said to be a holder of vows. Nowadays, everyone clings to just that much. In order to benefit beings, one should not abandon the mind that desires to attain perfect enlightenment, and dedicate whatever merit is accomplished as a cause for it. The trainings of the bodhisattva vows have been spoken by the Buddha in the sutras. Although it is rare for a lama to definitely be a Buddha, meditate with the faith that the yidam deity and the lama are inseparable. Strive for the generation and completion stages with the body as the deity, speech as mantra, and mind. Constantly offer tormas, and make offerings whenever good times arise. The commitments of the three roots are manifestly gathered in that. At the beginning of virtuous practice, generate bodhicitta, have good motivation, and in the actual practice, do not divide it into sessions and fixed patterns. Whenever you remember, meditate on the deity; whenever you remember, protect the essence. Sometimes practice union, sometimes alternate. Whenever experience arises, practice the giving and taking of compassion, and whenever the opportunity for the two peaks arises, meditate briefly on tögal (cutting through resistance). In speech, continuously recite the mantra like a flowing stream. Sometimes, whenever experience arises, engage in dharma practices, rituals, fulfillment, supplication, chanting, etc. Even if it is not a good time, make offerings with effort.

Arising. From that time onwards, conduct gatherings and offering rituals. When you are free and your enthusiasm is high, observe speech retreats for three, five, seven, etc. Signs will appear even with a little practice. If you meditate in seclusion for a long time, those signs will become clear. Monasteries, cities, hermitages, solitary places, etc., it's all the same wherever you stay, there's no food, no possessions. Knowing that the only thing to do is virtuous deeds, even if the town ceremonies are grand, avoid excessive commercial talk. If there are many to be tamed, it's good because desires are fulfilled. If there are few, there will be less defilement of possessions, that's also good. If it's moderate, he himself will become a supporting condition, and you will also benefit. Whatever happens is good, avoid expressions of displeasure. Don't become discouraged by hardships in life, etc. When the Immovable Buddha was young, he stayed in the horse stable of Lhorong Dzogpa. Without food, he saw Vaishravana, who prophesied that there would be many to be tamed in the future. At that time, some accomplished old women offered mustard seeds for oil extraction. You should reflect on such things. Practicing Dharma increases illness and suffering, but it completely purifies sins and is the pure land of the future. Good signs of going forth are clearly explained in all the stages of guidance. Dromtön, Kyopa, and Trisong Detsen were all afflicted with leprosy. Jaré, Götsang, and Loré were plagued by lice and disease. Thinking about those things, avoid losing faith in the deities. Again, strive to practice giving and taking and guarding the essence. Good and bad talk is like the sound of echoes in a valley. In degenerate times, those who deserve praise are disparaged, and those who deserve disparagement are praised. If you see disharmony, even Shakyamuni Buddha had rivals and slanderers appear. These are extensively explained in many sutras, and Padmasambhava was also slandered by Spa Tshe, Klu Gong, and Klu Pal, etc. Shariputra and Snezurba, etc., who were foremost in ethics, were also falsely accused. Many people praise, encourage, extol, and generate faith and reverence for some who are sinful and have broken their vows. Therefore, there is no need to cling to words of praise and blame. After you die, those words will not follow you. You don't know when you will die, and most will die quickly. Although there is no way to avoid death, there is a way to immediately prevent untimely death. Visualize yourself as glorious Heruka, in the heart of the clearly visualized self, the syllable (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:大乐)with the mantra garland rotating to the right. From there, emanate immeasurable rays of light, shining in the ten directions. Offer that light to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Absorb into the mind stream མ
