When offering the Chöd incense offering, generate refuge and bodhicitta, contemplate the four immeasurables. Contemplate that all sentient beings have gone for refuge to the Buddha. All sentient beings, including myself, go for refuge to the lama. I go for refuge to the Buddha. I go for refuge to the Dharma. I go for refuge to the Sangha. I go for refuge to Machig, the Great Mother, together with the assembly of the four classes of dakinis.
