So, at the beginning of requesting the profound longevity empowerment, I will briefly relate the history. From here to the west, there is a pure land called Sukhavati (the Land of Bliss), which is full of happiness and perfection, where even the names of the lower realms and suffering are not heard. There, Buddha Amitayus resides, and the measure of his life cannot be counted by anyone, so he is called Buddha Amitayus. It is said that even hearing the name of that pure land and that Buddha once, and generating even a single instance of faith, one will not turn back from unsurpassed enlightenment. The Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha taught many longevity sutras. According to the inner tantras, Amitayus himself taught eighteen longevity tantras, and so on. In the land of Oddiyana in the west, an emanation of a white-clad woman, a queen of accomplishment, was born miraculously in a lotus. She went to Sukhavati by means of miraculous power," } ] ============================================================

Having gone to the lotus (Uḍḍiyāna), he requested the longevity tantras, empowerments, and transmissions from Amitāyus himself. He attained the deathless longevity vidyādhara level, and even after living for five hundred years, he remained in the appearance of a sixteen-year-old. Such a ḍākiṇī, relying on the root tantra of Amitāyus, the hundred thousand tantras, and the explanatory tantra, the Net of Rays, performed outer sādhana of a single deity in a vase, inner sādhana of peaceful deities, secret sādhana of wrathful deities, and so on. After that, Rechung Dorje Drakpa went to India three times. Gyabre Lama Tipupa said, "Today, go to the Pākinā market to see the show." When he went there, he met someone wearing the skin of Acharya Trisam on his shoulder and blowing a conch shell. That person said, "There is a pitiful Tibetan boy, you only have seven days to live." After that, Rechungpa quickly returned from Kag and told the lama. The lama said, "I also know that you won't live that long, I just sent you to make you believe. Now don't be afraid, go to see Machig Grubpai Gyalmo." So he went and told the story. Machig Grubpai Gyalmo gave this longevity empowerment and asked Rechungpa, "How long do you want to live?" Rechungpa replied, "I want to live until I think it's good even if I die." Machig Grubpai Gyalmo said, "Tibetans have high thoughts and are uncertain. I will make you live as long as your father." So, after forty years, another forty years were added, extending Milarepa's life to eighty-eight years. Therefore, Tipupa also gave this longevity empowerment, saying, "I also know this longevity practice, but the long-lived Machig Grubpai Gyalmo made you ask for it to make you believe." After that, he returned to Tibet. Milarepa said, "Rechungpa, offer me a profound dharma that has not been spread in Tibet before, as a gift." So, Rechungpa brought back one hundred and eight tantras and commentaries from India, and thinking that this longevity practice was the most profound, he offered it to Milarepa. Milarepa passed it on to Gampopa, and Gampopa passed it on to Phagmo Drupa. Rechungpa passed it on to Sangri Repa, and Sangri Repa passed it on to Drogon Rechen, and so on, in a lineage of oral transmission. Even if birds and animals hear this longevity dhāraṇī, they will attain unsurpassed enlightenment and become Buddhas, and even just hearing the name of Amitāyus has many benefits, let alone receiving the empowerment? In order to receive such an empowerment
