A concise and easy-to-carry daily incense offering ritual, bestowing auspiciousness and glory. A concise and easy-to-carry daily incense offering ritual, bestowing auspiciousness and glory. A concise and easy-to-carry daily incense offering ritual, bestowing auspiciousness and glory. Namo Arya Lokeshvaraya. So, where is the authentic explanation of what is called incense offering (Sang) from? It is mentioned in the category of the Avatamsaka Sutra, the "Adornment of the Trunk" and the Jataka Tale of Norzang: In the past, in the world called "Various Wheels," during the story of King Dharma-ishvara inviting the Tathagata Dharmadhatu Radiance with its retinue, I, in order to offer to the Tathagata and the Bodhisattvas and the Sangha of Shravakas, also produced the sound of cymbals and music. I also burned a ball of incense and performed the Sang with incense. By burning that ball of incense, for seven days, the entire Jambudvipa was covered with a mist of incense, and the clouds were filled with various colors, the bodies of all sentient beings were pervaded with the fragrance of incense. Thus it is said. Yeshe Tsogyal also said, "Burn fragrant fruits or set fire to wood, and burn the three whites, the three sweets, and the flour, as well as various grains, and offer to the Lama and the Three Jewels, and satisfy the beings with pleasant fragrances." Thus it is said. Therefore, various grains, the essence of food, flour, and the powder of various excellent trees should be mixed in a clean container, and then burned on the stove. After emitting smoke such as Surkar, add flour, milk essence, and alcohol essence and stir. By taking this out, the concise Sang is complete. To the Lama Padmasambhava and the Three Jewels, I and all beings always take refuge. In order to establish all beings on the Buddha ground, I perform this incense offering, a great accumulation of merit. All phenomena are without characteristics, and are empty from the beginning. From within emptiness, one's own self appears clearly as Padmasambhava. Raṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:ram,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:火), yaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:yam,梵文罗马拟音:yaṃ,汉语字面意思:风), khaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:kham,梵文罗马拟音:khaṃ,汉语字面意思:空) purify impurities and defilements. From Hūṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:hūṃ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) arises the Smoke Goddess, with a blue body. The right hand holds a bathing vase, washing away flaws and impurities, and the left hand holds a medicine box, emitting clouds of medicinal smoke. The rays of smoke pervade the entire world, and from within each ray of smoke, there also descends the rain of the five desirable qualities and the seven precious royal possessions, as well as endless various offerings.
