Chapter Twenty-seven, possessing offerings, torma, and other ritual substances, like inner practice, there is the roar of the hero. Chapter Twenty-seven, possessing offerings, torma, and other ritual substances, like inner practice, there is the roar of the hero. (ཤ) From the "Oral Instructions of Mountain Dharma Retreat," the inner practice of the supreme new and old yidams and dakinis in general, called "The Roar of the Hero, Greatly Blazing." Namo Guru Shri Herukaye. Padma Heruka, lord of dance, blood-drinking Dharmeshvara, protect me. Hail Guru Virya Sagara. For fortunate individuals who frequent mountain retreats, if you wish to perform the inner practice of yidam deities, then extensively, according to the texts of ground and line drawing rituals, draw a colored sand mandala on a ground platform. Moderately, on thresholds and other platforms, spread a painted mandala. Lastly, on a platform suitable for the location, arranging piles of grains according to the number of deities is sufficient. Thus, in the center of a mandala that is either elaborate or concise, whichever is feasible, on a manzhi or a clean container filled with grains, place a vase with a neck cord, ornaments, and a protective thread. Inside, it is best to fill it with accomplishment pills, various grains, medicines, precious substances, the three whites, the three sweets, various flowers, the essence taken as a basis for blessings, and whatever nectar pills and samaya substances are obtained. On a quantity of either white or black soybeans, if the oil content is low, it should be thoroughly dried. If it is soaked in oil, drying is not necessary. Color it red and fill the vase. If not complete, add milk or clean water to the vase substances. If the practice period is short, use alcohol as rurawa. Above that, place a three-legged stand or a small table. Fill a skull cup with excellent pills of that kind. If there are none, it is sufficient to add nectar to alcohol. Above that, place crossed arrows tied together. Cover it with red silk. Smear the mirror with alcohol, and then smear it with sindhura. Draw a four-petaled lotus with a dharmodaya. In the center, write the seed syllable of whichever yidam it is. On the four petals, write the two syllables ha ri in the east, ri tsa in the south, ni hri in the west, and sa ya in the north. Behind that, in the outer circle, write the complete recitation mantra of whichever yidam it is. All of these letters should have their heads facing outward. This is placed on top of the red silk covering. Above that, place a crystal or a five-pronged vajra. Above that, place a small table or a foot.

Above the long song, arrange the accomplishment torma, which is adorned with precious jewels and beautiful decorations, along with the yidam tsaqli and silk parasols. If it is not possible to stack them in that way, arranging them in front of the vase is also not a problem. If it is Nyingma, on the left and right sides of the vase, on two platforms, inside two bhandas, arrange amrita on the right and rakta on the left. If it is Sarma, those two are not necessary. For both Sarma and Nyingma, prepare the tormas extensively according to the number of deities, as described in the practice. The retinue should be arranged in their respective positions in the cardinal and intermediate directions, with the main ones placed on either the left or right side of the vase, whichever is more convenient. If abbreviated, arrange a collection of tormas equal to the number of deities in a katola or large plate, which is the medium way. If abbreviated further, arrange one elaborate torma, like the precious burning one, similar to an empowerment torma. That is the torma offering, which is regularly nourished. Since the previous one is an accomplishment torma, as it is the deity's generation, it does not need to be regularly nourished after the first offering. If that deity has a protector Gyelpa, then place its torma in the corner of the mandala. The tormas for the four activities in the four directions of the mandala are: in the east, a round one with round butter decorations; in the south, a square shape with four corners on top, also decorated with square butter decorations; in the west, a crescent shape with two corners, decorated with a butter ornament shaped like the eighth-day moon with a handle; in the north, a wrathful torma with three corners, also decorated with a three-cornered butter ornament. The round one is white, smeared with butter. The yellow one is yellow, smeared with a mixture of mustard seed and butter. The two-cornered one is smeared with curd, and the three-cornered one is smeared with fierce oil. Arrange them in the four directions of the mandala: east, south, west, and north. These are the tormas for accomplishing the four activities. If it is Sarma, it is okay even if it is not mentioned. After that, in the eight directions of the mandala, place offering water in the east, foot-washing water in the southeast, flowers in the south, incense in the southwest, light in the west, perfume in the northwest, food offerings in the north, and musical instruments such as cymbals in the northeast, or any good musical instrument. If there are none, place barley, called directional flowers. These are all necessary. After that, in the four corners of the mandala, place four victory banners, four arrows, four knives, a net of colored threads, four mirrors, four silk banners, a tiger's practice circuit, twelve small phurbas, and a net and net cover of crystal and other jewels.
