I prostrate and praise the Protector Avalokiteshvara." Practicing the ten perfections, you became the lord of the ten bhumis. The lord of the ten bhumis is adorned with the crown of Dharma. Protector Avalokiteshvara is the lord of compassion. I praise the Black-Cloaked Deity and respectfully prostrate. The form of the glorious Protector is said to subdue fierce yakshas, mainly showing one riding a black horse. Praise to the Protector: Protector Avalokiteshvara is the master of great compassion, possessing immeasurable qualities, the refuge of all the world. In the Chakra of Life Tantra, Avalokiteshvara pays homage and praises the Protector: From countless eons ago, you have perfectly attained unsurpassed enlightenment.

以慈悲力成办众生义，怙主观世音前我顶礼赞！如是，于彼续中，金刚手赞怙主：以行十度故，成十地之主。十地怙主尊，以法之冠庄严。怙主观世音，乃慈悲之主宰。如是说。又，于秘密心滴轮之续中：名为黑怙主，乃诸瑜伽士之怙。本体乃智慧之化身，乃智慧身，即金刚大。如是说。又，于彼续中：世尊吉祥黑怙主，如是宣说与母相合。又，于续焰鬘首之变相中：世尊菩提萨埵圣观自在王黑大自在，与方便俱者，我顶礼！如是。大成就者噶玛巴云：吉祥怙主黑袍金刚与名号周知的噶玛巴二者无别，汝等知否？如是说。上师怙主无别，本尊怙主无别，且妙音之母妙音天女，阎魔敌之母罗浪玛，怙主之母自生女王，彼等本体一事，以诸多续部宣说之故。上师本尊空行护法一切皆集于此母怙双运之故，于此无需更立本尊。玛觉译师之规，父续单尊，及时钦之规，母续单尊，二者皆集于此。眷属傲慢之主七十二等，一切护法亦无不集于此。此有二传承。莲花生大士云：安住于镇压罗刹之地，以金饰之，国王大臣送至。一黑人逆行，云：汝等无需依止上师，有无需修持之神力，何不言说？国王仁波切等赐予圣旨，随后追赶至河山。献上三匹坐骑及财物，祈求道：我有一母怙之照片，前往西南镇压罗刹需此。未允，径自离去。国王于后追赶，至罗刹城山脚下，云：已至，未允。

By the power of compassion, you accomplish the benefit of beings, To the protector Avalokiteśvara, I prostrate and praise! Thus, in that very tantra, Vajrapani praises the protector: By practicing the ten perfections, you become the lord of the ten bhumis. You, the protector of the ten bhumis, are adorned with the crown of Dharma. You, the protector Avalokiteśvara, possess the dominion of compassion. Thus it is said. Also, in the tantra of the Secret Essence Heart Wheel: The protector called Black One, is the protector of all yogis. His essence is the emanation of wisdom, The wisdom body, the great Vajra. Thus it is said. Also, in that very tantra: The Bhagavan, the glorious Black Protector, is spoken of as being with his consort. Also, in the transformation salutation at the beginning of the Garland of Flames Tantra: To the Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva, the noble Avalokiteśvara, the powerful Black Great Lord, and the one with skillful means, I prostrate! Thus. The great accomplished Karma Pakshi said: The glorious protector, the Black-Cloaked One, and the Karma Pakshi, whose name is widely known, are inseparable. Do you know this or not? Thus it is said. The Lama and the Protector are inseparable. The Yidam and the Protector are inseparable. Furthermore, the mother of Manjushri is Saraswati, the mother of Yamantaka is Rolangma, and the mother of the Protector is Rangjung Gyalmo. Because these are said to be of one essence in many tantras, all Lamas, Yidams, Dakinis, and Dharma Protectors are gathered in this union of Mother and Protector. Therefore, there is no need for another Yidam to be placed above this one. The tradition of Malgyo Lotsawa, the single Father Tantra, and the tradition of Dusi Khyenpa, the single Mother Tantra, are both gathered in this. The seventy-two chief lords of the arrogant retinue, and all the Dharma Protectors, are included in this. There are two lineages for this. Guru Padmasambhava said, "I will reside to subdue the Rakshasas," and he was adorned with gold and escorted by the king and ministers. A black man went against him and said, "You have the power to not need to rely on the Guru, why don't you say so?" The King Rinpoche and others gave orders and pursued him to the River Mountain. Offering three horses and wealth, they requested, "I have a picture of Mother and Protector, I need this to go to the southwest to subdue the Rakshasas." Without granting it, he departed. The king followed behind, and when they reached the foot of Rakshasa City Mountain, he said, "We have arrived," but he did not grant it.
