This mantra is mentioned in many sadhanas of the Playful Black Breath Owner Tantra and the Secret Assembly of Hayagriva. First, just by remembering to meditate on one's own body as the mandala of glorious Hayagriva, all sins, obscurations, faults, and shortcomings are purified, and all qualities of happiness and goodness are completely perfected. By purifying the perception of all samsara and nirvana as ordinary, it arises as the mandala of the powerful Hayagriva. The ultimate result is the attainment of the Form Body, the Enjoyment Body, and the Emanation Body. As it is said in the tantra "Hayagriva Subduing All Pride": This incomparable mandala of the Victorious Ones, just by remembering it, faults are purified and all qualities are perfected. All samsara and nirvana, all containers and contents, arise as the great mandala of the powerful one. In that supreme place of great liberation, one attains the great Enjoyment Body. Thus it is said. If the generation stage of one's own Hayagriva is clear, then no black magic, diseases, or evil spirits can harm one, and it is the supreme and sacred protection. As it is said in the tantra "Hayagriva Secret Assembly": When the end of times comes, the mantra practitioners will break their vows through internal strife.

Then, the profound excellence is that whatever illness, demons, protection, and activities are intended, one clearly visualizes oneself as the body of Hayagriva, and nothing can stand against it. This is the supreme armor of emptiness; this is the king of protection. Thus it is said. Second, the benefits of recitation are two: approach and activity. First: From the Hayagriva Rolpa, the Black Lord of Breath Tantra: That is the approach of the deity tantra; the aggregates of the five poisons transform, and realization manifests as great bliss. Thus it is said. From the Hayagriva Taming All Arrogance Tantra: Even just reciting it once eliminates sins such as breaches of vows and virtuous deeds; one obtains the accomplishments of body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas of the three times; the southern Rakshasas and the eight classes tremble and praise; the minds of the arrogant ones are subdued; all male lineages are overturned and fall; all female lineages lie supine and fall; the elemental beings and Naga races are completely destroyed; the arrogant ones of existence and samsara vomit blood; all the cruel and harmful ones are like moths in the flame of a mouth; nothing can overcome them; what need to mention Nagas, Nyen spirits, and earth lords? For those without obstacles to life, three hundred thousand recitations become the threshold; the secret mantra that gathers the heart of the Sugatas; its power and strength are beyond words; it is the ultimate of all secret mantras; it becomes the supreme protector of all. Thus it is said. From the text of the Hayagriva Yangsang Sadhana: The sound-emptiness mantra is like a river; continuously reciting one hundred thousand syllables will accomplish the two kinds of siddhis; reciting three hundred thousand will bring the body of power; one will meet the face, receive prophecies, have power over life; and accomplishing the four activities will bring success. Thus it is said. From the extensive text of the Hayagriva Secret Sadhana: However, for those with intelligence, accomplishing it as above will surely succeed; in this life and in the bardo, one will be equal to the yidam deity; one will meet the face, receive prophecies, and be guided on the path of liberation; it is the deity of compassion who does not transgress the times; the samaya and borrowed samaya are accomplished as one; the pure land mandala becomes one. Thus it is said. Second, the benefits of the cutting mantra and the eight wrathful actions: From the Rolpa, the Black Lord of Breath Tantra: This is the wrathful mantra razor; wherever it is applied, it is like a vajra; if it can liberate empty phenomena, what need to mention those with form? Whatever it aims at, it severely torments the heart; vomiting blood, the suffering is very great; arrogance.
