A Record of the Oral Instructions on the Seven Activities of Hayagriva, a Repelling and Reversing Technique. A Record of the Oral Instructions on the Seven Activities of Hayagriva, a Repelling and Reversing Technique. Here begins a clear exposition of the Record of Oral Instructions on the Seven Activities of Hayagriva, a Repelling and Reversing Technique. Namo Griva Ye! A section from the tantra of the Play of the Supreme Horse. Composed based on the Black Subduer of Nagas Tantra. Since this Black Hayagriva appears from one treasure site after another, there are extremely many different kinds. However, this Nyang tradition is very famous. Starting from Karma Pakshi up to the successive Karmapas, and starting from Gendun Drup up to the Omniscient Ones, they all seem to have practiced this as their yidam. Therefore, the lineage of this അനുജ്ഞཱ (anujñā, permission) has spread to all schools. Within this Nyang tradition, the root is a vast Indian text, with commentaries and empowerments in extensive, intermediate, and concise forms. Outer offerings include the eighteen offering substances. Inner offerings include white and red bodhicitta. Secret offerings include boiling, roasting, and burning. Three methods for summoning rain, hail, and ice. Although there are many diagrams, the most essential for practitioners is the so-called "Seven Activities," which encompasses pacifying, reversing, and wrathful practices. Nowadays, many practitioners recite this single text, but it is often incomplete. Therefore, this compilation I have made from various texts is complete. There is nothing hidden or concealed regarding rituals, protection, and reversal. The saying, "Hide it in your heart, ask it with your mouth," refers to hiding the methods for exerting power based on this practice. If these were disseminated, the Eight Classes would become too fierce, and it is feared that it would spread like poison, so they were concealed. When reciting this, it is permissible to dedicate to the yidam's བલિཾ (baliṃ, offering cake), without needing a separate offering. Refuge, bodhicitta, preliminaries, white བིགྷྣ (vighna, obstacle)-repelling, fulfillment, ཚོགས་ (tshogs, accumulation) offerings, བલિཾ (baliṃ, offering cake) offerings, etc., can be done according to the general customs of practitioners. This practice itself has extensive, intermediate, and concise forms. First, fill a large copper or iron pot with ཙམྤཱ (tsampā, roasted barley flour), flour, beer, dung pills, or anything similar. Seal the opening and create an eight-spoked wheel, then stack a square on top, and then a triangle on top. In each such container, dig a ཧོམ (homa, fire offering) pit, placing a large ལིངྒ (liṅga, phallus) in the center, and smaller ལིངྒ (liṅga, phallus) molds in the other spaces. All of these are black on the outside and red on the inside. Place a red བલિཾ (baliṃ, offering cake) one cubit high in the center, and four tall བલિཾ (baliṃ, offering cake) in each of the four directions. Behind that, place eight portions of food for each of the Eight Classes. In the spaces between the spokes, place cut and dried fingernails facing outwards.
