Crystal. The width is fifty yojanas. At both ends, it is three times the width. Inside are the sons of gods, the sun and moon, along with their retinue. The width of the large stars is eighteen ক্রোশ krosa. The medium ones are about ten. The small ones have four or one. In those, the gods reside. At the summit of Mount Meru, in the place of the Thirty-Three, is Indra with his retinue. On the four tiers of Mount Meru are the gods of the four great king races. On the first tier and the four directions of the summit of Yoke-Holder Mountain are the four great kings with their retinues. Around Mount Meru are the four continents surrounded by eight subcontinents, the people of the four continents, the six classes of desire gods, and the higher realms, where happiness and suffering, hunger and thirst, wealth and grain, etc., exist or do not exist differently. In general, all three realms are bound by the suffering of formation among the three sufferings and have not transcended it. In the four continents, there is the occurrence of excrement and urine. The gods do not have these. In the three continents, there is famine of good and bad years. Where the sound is unpleasant and the gods do not have these. The people of the three continents and the six classes of desire gods have fear and dread. Where the sound is unpleasant and the two higher realms do not have these. In the three continents, there is buying and selling of gold, silver, etc. Where the sound is unpleasant and the gods do not have these.
