Even thinking like this, it feels very different. Then, generating the mind of enlightenment (Bodhicitta): For the sake of all sentient beings, may I swiftly attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. For that purpose, I will practice the stages of the path of the three types of individuals. Recite this three times, etc., while remembering the meaning. The second aspect has two parts: how to rely on with intention and action. The first aspect has two parts: cultivating faith as the root, and generating respect through remembering kindness. The first is: As it is said in the tantra, "One should hold onto the qualities of the teacher, and never hold onto faults. Holding onto qualities, one obtains accomplishments; holding onto faults, one does not achieve." Therefore, to generate faith in the lama, one must first prevent the mind from perceiving faults in him. If this is not prevented, faith will not arise properly. If faith does not arise, the door to all good things in this life and future lives will be blocked. Especially in future lives, one will be separated from the opportunity to meet a virtuous friend and will fall into the lower realms. Therefore, one should clearly identify the lamas who teach you the Dharma and those who have a Dharma connection. Regardless of whether those lamas have faults or not, allow the aspects that appear as faults from your own perspective to arise in your mind. Then, contemplate: Why do these faults appear in my lama? Do they appear even though they are not there? At that time, think like this: Because of my impure karma, these faults appear to be present. How could a lama, a Buddha, have faults? Think well. If you think it is impossible for faults to appear when they are not there, it is possible. For example, in a deluded consciousness, a white conch shell appears yellow, and a snow mountain appears blue, and so on. Even the Buddha, who has exhausted all faults, appears to have faults to non-Buddhist proponents like Lekga. Think like that. In this way, one must cultivate faith by blocking the mind that perceives faults. If genuine faith arises, not only will one rely on a virtuous friend properly, but also, just as the lama is the root of accomplishment, faith is also said to be the root of all happiness and well-being. Therefore, if that lama has the three special qualities of being learned, disciplined, and virtuous, that is excellent. Even if not, even if they only have little attachment to worldly things, good memory, etc.

Manifesting even the slightest qualities, repeatedly thinking that my lama possesses such qualities, thereby generating strong faith like that towards the Buddha. Second, generating respect by remembering kindness: In general, just as the sky and the realm of sentient beings are without limit, there may be countless Buddhas, Bhagawans. However, the actual self-nature body of these Buddhas is not something that can be seen by those with little merit like us. Even if they could appear, this virtuous friend, in the manner of continuing the lineage of the Buddhas, has benefited me with the Dharma, and there is nothing greater than this. Therefore, from my own perspective, this lama is definitely more kind than those Buddhas. If one can practice the Dharma taught by the lama according to the Dharma, one can even attain the state of Buddhahood. Therefore, this kindness cannot be measured even if one fills the three thousand worlds with gold. Thinking in this way, generate respect. Second, the way to rely on through action: In short, pleasing the lama should be accomplished in many ways, and one should not do anything that displeases the lama even a little. One should respectfully serve with bathing, massaging, wiping, etc., praise with words, and act according to the lama's instructions. Even if one cannot do this, one should not ignore it, but strive to study, contemplate, and meditate diligently. Although one should mainly please the lama with offerings of practice, because one has special needs such as easily completing one's accumulations, one should also make offerings with abundant material possessions, etc. When directly relying on the lama, one should do this. If one is practicing alone, as a substitute for the general and special services, such as bathing, which cannot be actually accomplished, one should visualize prostrations and offerings to all the lamas of the lineage in common. First: By the power of the truth of the Three Jewels, and the blessings of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the two accumulations are completely perfected, the realm of Dharma is completely purified, and by the power of my faith, may the earth be as pure and perfect as the Land of Bliss, the nature of precious jewels. In general, it is "the earth is pure," etc. In the center of it, a precious lion throne...
