Hair Ritual, Completely Eliminating Sins. Hair Ritual, Completely Eliminating Sins. The Hair Ritual, called the Complete Elimination of Sins, is present. Merely remembering its name, one can completely eradicate suffering and its causes from the lower realms. The Bhagavan who is the glory of the Pure Land of Manifest Joy, I prostrate to the Unshakable One. Here, if one wishes to perform a hair ritual for the living, or a bone ritual for the deceased, then prepare a vase with vase substances and a neck-tied vase, and offerings. First, recite the Refuge Prayer, etc. Instantly, visualize oneself as the Unshakable One, with a blue body, one face, and two arms. The vase: purify with Amrita (藏文:ཨ་མྲྀ་ཏ།,梵文天城体:अमृत,梵文罗马拟音:amṛta,汉语字面意思:Nectar), cleanse with Svabhava (藏文:སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ།,梵文天城体:स्वभाव,梵文罗马拟音:svabhāva,汉语字面意思:Self-nature). From emptiness, from Pam (藏文:པཾ།) arises a vase with a large belly, long neck, and slightly drooping mouth, possessing all characteristics. Inside, from Pam (藏文:པཾ།) arises a lotus, and from Ah (藏文:ཨ།) arises a moon mandala, upon which from Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།) arises a vajra, marked with Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།). From it, light radiates, offering to the noble ones, accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, gathering back, completely transforming into Vajra Akshobhya, with a blue body, one face, and two arms, the right hand in the earth-touching mudra, and the left hand in the meditation mudra, holding a five-pronged vajra. Adorned with silk garments, a crown, and various precious ornaments, seated in the center of a mass of light in the vajra posture. On his crown is a white Om (藏文:ༀ།), at his throat is a red Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ), and at his heart is a blue Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།). From the Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།) at his heart, light radiates, inviting the Buddha Akshobhya from his natural abode, surrounded by a retinue of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Om Vajra Samaja (藏文:ༀ་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ), Jah Hum Bam Hoh (藏文:ཛཿཧཱུཾ་བཾ་ཧོཿ), becoming inseparable. Again, from the Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།) at his heart, light radiates, inviting the deities of empowerment. I request that you bestow empowerment upon this. Having made this request, they hold a vase filled with the nectar of wisdom, Om Sarva... Shriye Ah Hum (藏文:ༀ་སརྦ་ནས་ཤྲཱི་ཡེ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ།), thus bestowing empowerment. The entire body is filled, all impurities are cleansed. The remaining water overflows upwards, transforming into Vajrasattva as a crown ornament. Self-nature). From emptiness, from Bhrum (藏文:བྷྲུཾ།) arise vast and expansive jeweled vessels, inside which Om (藏文:ༀ།) dissolves into light, from which arise offering water and so on, equal to the sky.

Having blessed with Om Argham Ah Hum to Shapta Ah Hum, offer with Om Akshobhya Sapariwara Argham to Shapta. Dharmadhatu nature, dark blue color, one face and two hands, earth-touching and meditative mudras, adorned with divine garments and many precious ornaments, I prostrate and praise the Bhagavan Akshobhya. On the moon disc at the heart of the Bhagavan, light radiates from the Hum syllable surrounded by a garland of mantras. It purifies the sins and obscurations of all sentient beings. Visualize that all the blessings of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are drawn in the form of light and nectar and dissolve into the mantra garland. Namo Ratna Trayaya. Om Kamkani Kamkani, Rocani Rocani, Trotani Trotani, Trasani Trasani, Pratihani Pratihani, Sarva Karma Paramparaṇi Me Sarva Sattvanam Ca Svaha. Recite as much as possible. After reciting the Hundred Syllable Mantra, make offerings and praises. Vajra Muḥ: The wisdom deity of the vase departs, and the samaya deity becomes one taste with the water of the vase. Meditate thus. Then, whatever it is, hair or bone, purify it with Amrita (Tibetan: ཨ་མྲྀ་ཏ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमृत, Sanskrit Romanization: amrita, Literal meaning: nectar). On top of the hair or bones, in the center of the moon mandala, the Hum syllable is surrounded by the mantra to be recited, from which a stream of nectar descends, mixes with the water of the vase, and dissolves into the hair or bones. Visualize that this purifies all the sins and obscurations of so-and-so. Recite Kamkani, and the long and short dharanis of Vairochana, and Om Vajra Pramardana Ye Svaha. Recite as much as possible, and then bathe with the water of the vase. In between, at the end of the mantra, recite: May all the sins and obscurations of so-and-so be purified, and may they quickly attain perfect enlightenment. If you want to elaborate, recite: This is the water of the nature of generosity, etc.; and attachment, hatred, and ignorance, etc.; and the earth is not the source of poison, etc. At the end of each phrase, recite the mantra and additional words, and then bathe. This is a slightly elaborate method, and the abbreviated method has already been explained elsewhere. It is said that not only for hair and bones, but also for the teeth and nails of the living or the deceased, one should do the same. The water after bathing should be discarded in a clean place, or the bones, etc., should be carefully crushed, or the hair, etc., should be mixed with the ashes after burning, and then mixed with the soil for making stupas, and then proceed according to the ritual for making stupas.
