Thus, by difference in apprehension, birth-matter is made two-fold; Or simply, as arising by way of self-perception. 695. And the three primary elements as tangible, also twenty-sixfold; Taking both birth and tangible, twenty-five. 705. Thus, the discerning one should explain the form-elements; Their own nature, their name-summary, their intrinsic nature, and their characteristics. The fivefold form, such as eye and so forth, is considered internal; The remaining twenty-three kinds, are called external. 709. Form, sound, smell, taste, and tangible, are seven in five ways; The five sense-faculties' objects, are called the five sense-objects. 710. The remaining twenty-one kinds, are included in mind-objects; Knowable by mind-consciousness, the range of the mind-door. 711. The sense-faculties and their objects, both fivefold, arise; Twelve in their own nature, are the ten sense-bases and elements. 712. Indivisible forms, sound, base, and faculties; Produced are eighteen kinds, known as form-form. 719. Delimiting space, intimation, lightness, and so on; Modifications and characteristics, and the growth of form, and so on. 720. Ten kinds are unproduced, these are not ultimately real; Saying "this belongs to form," it is simply called form. 721. The visual object is one, said to be with manifestation; The other without manifestation, is twenty-seven kinds. 722. Karma-born is grasped, the other is not grasped; Three kinds are mind-born, and temperature-born, and nutriment-born. 723. The eye-contact base, is called the eye-element; The remaining is not a base for it, and is twenty-seven kinds. 724. According to the ear-contact base, and so on, it is likewise two kinds; And three kinds should be distinguished, as far as possible. 725. Form and form, discrimination, change, characteristic, in order; Eighteen, one, five, and four, and that is so. 733. And it is a door, and it is a base, not a base, only a door; Not a door, only a base, or neither, thus one should state. 734. With impact, and grasped, form without impact, and so; Not grasped, of two kinds, thus in four ways, and so on. 736. Eleven kinds of karma-born form, the heart-base and nine sense faculties; Karma-born and mind-born, and also the two kinds of intimation. 737. Sound is mind-produced, therefore, one form is considered of two kinds; Mind-produced and nutriment-born, lightness and so on, three kinds. 738. Nine, space, non-separable, born of karma and so on, four kinds; Then characteristic form, thus form is of five kinds. 739. Nine, space, non-separable, and nine base-faculties; Eighteen kinds of form, are karma-born, aggregated. 740. Sound, space, non-separable, intimation, lightness and so on; Fifteen kinds of form, one should declare as mind-born. 741. Sound, space, non-separable, and lightness and so on, three kinds; They declare as temperature-born, form stands in thirteen ways. 742.
