The third path, its fruit from that, the Non-returner, one who stands in that fruit. Thus, to one developing, in the arising of the destruction of the remaining defilements; The fourth path, its fruit from that, the Arahant, one who stands in that fruit. One who has done what is to be done, one who has cut off existence, worthy of offerings, by the destruction of substrata; Goes to Nibbana, like a lamp, called the end of all suffering. Thus may purity be accomplished, called knowledge and vision; By this much, the truth is spoken, the ultimate meaning, in brief. Conventional truth, because it is called the object of 'being' and so on; It cannot be obtained, like a fire-wheel, that indeed, without form and so on. In this and that way, not abandoning form and so on; And such and such designation, and apprehension occurs from that. Is obtained by conceptualization, which That is not false from that; They say it has an unstated object, because it is spoken in 'little' and so on. 370. This being is a friend of evil and good, a continuity of aggregates; Taking it as one, the wise here speak of it. 371. Even if earth etc. are separated, there is no person from that; The grasping of a person arises from the state of being an object of wrong view. 372. Making this an object, with terms like 'concept' etc.; 'Non-existent designation', so say those who know. 373. Designation of the existent, because it has form etc. as its object; If it is designation, listen well to the truth of what is said. 374. Indeed, sound is a modification with communication, of the two truths; It is designation because it makes known, so say those who know. 375. The object of present etc., the analytical knowledge of language— Of knowledge, thus this is fitting, not otherwise. 376. If sound, meaning, concept etc. are of all things; Then the collection of designation terms is because they are to be designated. 377. "All are designation-phenomena," should be taught thus, if so; Then of the act of designating, and of the things to be designated. 378. Indeed, if the statement was made thus to make known the distinction; Then a separate collection of designation paths should not be made. 379. It is designated by four terms, beginning with 'designation'; Because it is designated by others, so the teachers said. 380. Indeed, because it is to be designated by taking form etc. as basis; Therefore, 'designation based on non-existent' is the first. 381. By that which has attained birth immediately after the continuity of ear-consciousness; By mind-door consciousness that has grasped a previous sign. 382. By which, when grasped, they designate beings, chariots, etc.; Thus, that is 'name-designation', and it is called the second. 383. Understanding the meaning by understanding other names from the sound; Because it is difficult to achieve, the former method is indeed to be praised. 384. That is existent designation, and also non-existent; And non-existent by existent, and its opposite. 385. Existent by non-existent, and its opposite; These are six kinds; among them, the first is 'idea' and so on. 386. A being, faithful, a man of energy, A leader, mind... So it is; Thus these should be known, successively from the second. 387. Thus knowing by their marks, the two truths unmixed; but usage should be made, by the wise, not haphazardly. Thus, in the Summary of Truths, named the exposition of the concept of Nibbāna, the Fifth Chapter. The Summary of Truths is finished.
