With the entire kingdom of Jambudīpa, here, this kingdom belongs to the king, the income and commands arising from the entire Jambudīpa, with these I honor him, that is the meaning, not with the entire earth, palaces, etc., because it is inappropriate to give it by setting a time limit, such as "we give it for seven days." For if one gives thus, one gives for a temporary period, since giving is characterized by the relinquishing of an object, and it is inappropriate to take back an object like the earth once relinquished. However, in a fixed period, the income, etc., are relinquished, and after that, since they are not relinquished, it is permissible to take them.
