Non-corporeality is fourfold, divided according to the wholesome, unwholesome, resultant, and functional arising in the five-aggregate existence. Its division is elevenfold, as fourfold, onefold, threefold, threefold, according to the plane, such as the sense-sphere, etc. For resultant immateriality is not a condition of non-association, thus, the determination should be understood here in terms of various kinds of divisions. Here, among those thus divided, wholesome and unwholesome, arising in the five-aggregate existence and belonging to the four planes, are a condition by the condition of co-nascent non-association for the mind-produced materiality produced by themselves. But having passed the moment of arising and being in the moment of duration... For the prenascent body, of four-originated or three-originated materiality, it is a condition by way of postnascent dissociation. Here, the three-originated body should be understood as the body of Brahma retinue beings and the like, due to the absence of nutriment-origination. However, for the kāmāvacara and rūpāvacara resultant, it is a condition by way of co-nascent dissociation for the mind-originated materiality in the course of existence, and for the materiality of karma-result at rebirth. For supramundane resultant, it is only for mind-originated materiality. However, this threefold [materiality] is a condition by way of postnascent dissociation for the prenascent body of four-originated or three-originated materiality. Also, the three-realm kriya is a condition by way of co-nascent dissociation for mind-originated [materiality], and a condition by way of postnascent dissociation for the prenascent body of four-originated or three-originated materiality. However, among the materialities that exist in six ways, the base-materiality, at the moment of rebirth, is a condition by way of co-nascent dissociation for kāmāvacara and rūpāvacara resultants, and a condition by way of prenascent dissociation for the four-realm wholesome [states] arising in the course of existence, for unwholesome [states], for the three-realm resultants excluding the two five-sense consciousnesses, and for the three-realm kriya [states]. The eye-base and so on are a condition by way of prenascent dissociation for eye-consciousness and so on; thus, here, the determination should be understood regarding both condition and conditioned. Explanation of the Condition of Dissociation. 21. Explanation of the Condition of Presence 21. In the Condition of Presence, "The four aggregates" and so on indicate the condition of presence by way of co-nascence. "The eye-base" and so on [indicate it] by way of pre-nascence. "Relying on which materiality" here indicates the condition of presence by way of both co-nascence and pre-nascence. Thus, this passage comes in terms of only the conditions of presence of co-nascent and pre-nascent [factors]. However, in the question section, since it comes in terms of co-nascent, pre-nascent, post-nascent, nutriment, and faculty, the condition of presence can be obtained also by way of post-nascent, nutriment, and faculty. Here, however, the teaching is given in terms of what remains; this is the interpretation of the passage here. Now, the presence condition is twofold: mutual and non-mutual. There, the mutual is threefold: immaterial with immaterial, material with material, material-immaterial with material-immaterial. For example, "The four immaterial aggregates" refers to the immaterial with the immaterial in terms of all arising consciousness. "The four great elements" refers to the material with the material in terms of all continuous existence. "Name and form at the moment of conception" refers to the material-immaterial with the material-immaterial in terms of the aggregates of rebirth and the base. The non-mutual is also threefold: "immaterial for material, material for material, material for immaterial consciousness and mental factors." Here, the immaterial for the material is stated in terms of the five-aggregate existence. "The great elements for derived materiality" refers to the material for the material in terms of all continuous existence. "The eye-base for the eye-consciousness element," etc., refers to the presence condition of the material for the immaterial in terms of the base and object. In short, the presence condition refers to name and form that have reached the three moments, and it is appropriate to say that it is the present five aggregates. It is divided into five types according to the difference in birth: wholesome, unwholesome, resultant, functional, and material. Among them, the wholesome is twofold: co-nascent and post-nascent, as is the unwholesome, the resultant, and the functional. Among these, the wholesome is divided into four types according to the realms of desire, etc., the unwholesome is only in the desire realm, the result is in the four planes, and the functional is in the three planes. The material presence condition is only in the desire realm. It is twofold: co-nascent and pre-nascent. Among them, the five bases and objects are only pre-nascent, the heart-base is either co-nascent or pre-nascent. In the question section, food and sense-faculty do not have co-nascent and other distinctions. Thus, the decision here should be understood in terms of various kinds of distinctions. Although thus distinguished, here the co-nascent presence condition of the four-plane wholesome, in the five-aggregate existence, "one aggregate for three aggregates," etc., in this way, the mutual aggregates and consciousness-produced materiality. But excluding the form-sphere wholesome, the remaining formless, is a co-nascent presence condition only for the aggregates associated with it. But this four-plane wholesome, in the five-aggregate existence, is a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body. The same method applies to unwholesome. For that too, in the five-aggregate existence, it is a co-nascent presence condition only for the associated aggregates and the mind-originated matter. In the four-aggregate existence, only for the associated aggregates. In the five-aggregate existence, it is a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body. But as result, the sense-sphere and form-sphere presence condition, invariably at the moment of rebirth, is a co-nascent presence condition for the aggregates and the karma-produced matter. But in the course of existence, it is a co-nascent presence condition for the associated aggregates and the mind-originated matter, and a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body that has attained stability. But the formless-sphere result, and the supramundane result arisen in the formless, are a co-nascent presence condition only for the aggregates associated with themselves. In the five-aggregate existence, the supramundane result is a co-nascent presence condition for the associated aggregates and the mind-originated matter, and a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body. As functional, the form-sphere presence condition is a co-nascent presence condition for the associated aggregates and the mind-originated matter, and a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body. But the sense-sphere and formless-sphere, in the formless, are a co-nascent presence condition only for the associated aggregates, and in the five-aggregate existence, also for the mind-originated matter, and a subsequent presence condition for the four-originated and three-originated body. The presence condition, enumerated by form, is fourfold: co-nascent, pre-nascent, nutriment, and faculty. Therein, And the co-nascent presence condition, stands in four ways, by way of the four arising sources. Therein, the karma-originated, one great element to three great elements, three to one, two to two, great elements to derived matter, thus, a condition by way of the co-nascent presence condition. At the moment of rebirth, the base-matter, to the karma-sphere and form-sphere resultant aggregates, a condition by way of the co-nascent presence condition. Also, the tri-originated matter to them, one great element to three great elements, three to one, two to two, great elements to derived matter, thus, a condition by way of the co-nascent presence condition. But the pre-nascent presence condition, is twofold, by way of base pre-nascent and object pre-nascent. Both of those two, should be understood by connecting them, in the same way as stated in the pre-nascent condition below. Also, the nutriment presence condition, should be connected in the same way, as connected in the nutriment of morsel food condition below. But here, this, is called a presence condition, because of its conditionality at its unceased moment. Also, the material life faculty, should be connected in the same way, as stated in the connection of the material life faculty, in the faculty condition below. But here, this too, is called a presence condition, because of its conditionality at its unceased moment, thus, here, the conditioned by the condition, should also be understood, as the decision. Explanation of the Presence Condition. 22. Explanation of the Absence Condition 22. In the Absence Condition, "immediately ceased," having been without interval, by another consciousness, immediately ceased. "To the arisen," to the present. By this, it establishes the absence conditionality, by way of giving space for the absence condition. For if they did not give space, for the arising of the later ones, by way of cessation of the former ones, their being arisen would not be, this is the meaning of the text here. All the rest, should be understood in the same way, as stated in the immediately contiguous condition. Only the characteristic of the condition is different here, but there is no difference,
