Decisive support by way of natural occurrence – relying on faith, one gives alms... and so on... produces attainment, grasps wrong view; morality... and so on... wisdom... lust that is not caused to be abandoned by development... hatred... delusion... wrong view... aspiration... bodily pleasure... bodily pain... and so on... relying on lodging, one gives alms... and so on... kills living beings... and so on... breaks up the Sangha; faith... and so on... lodging, by faith... and so on... by wisdom... not by development to be aban... For lust, for hatred, for delusion, for wrong view, for aspiration, for bodily pleasure, etc., for the attainment of fruition, which have a cause to be abandoned, there is a condition by way of decisive support. (1) A dhamma whose cause is not to be abandoned by development is a condition by way of decisive support for a dhamma whose cause is to be abandoned by development. (This is) object decisive support, immediate decisive support, natural decisive support, etc. (Example of) natural decisive support: Relying on faith, one cultivates conceit, etc. Faith, etc., a dwelling place is a condition by way of decisive support for lust, hatred, delusion, conceit, aspiration, whose cause is to be abandoned by development. (2) A dhamma whose cause is not to be abandoned by development is a condition by way of decisive support for both a dhamma whose cause is to be abandoned by development and a dhamma whose cause is not to be abandoned by development. (This is) object decisive support, immediate decisive support, natural decisive support, etc. (Example of) natural decisive support: Faith, etc., wisdom, bodily pleasure, etc., a dwelling place is a condition by way of decisive support for the aggregates associated with restlessness and for delusion. A dhamma whose cause is not to be abandoned by development is a condition by way of pre-nascent condition for a dhamma whose cause is not to be abandoned by development.
