When wholesome and unwholesome states cease, resultant states and 'that-object' arise. The ear… the nose… the tongue… the body… in grasped and grasping forms… smells… tastes… tangibles… the base… in grasped and grasping aggregates one sees as impermanent, suffering, non-self, one finds delight in it, one rejoices in it; concerning that, lust arises… displeasure arises. With the divine eye, one sees grasped and grasping forms; with the knowledge of penetration of others' minds, one knows the mind of one endowed with a grasped and grasping mind. The grasped and grasping aggregates for the knowledge of psychic powers, for the knowledge of penetration of others' minds, for the knowledge of recollection of past lives, for the knowledge of future events, for advertence are a condition by way of object condition. (2) 53. The ungrasped and not-grasping phenomenon for the ungrasped and not-grasping phenomenon is a condition by way of object condition. By way of condition – Having given alms, having undertaken precepts, having performed Uposatha duties, one reflects on that. One reflects on good deeds done before. Having arisen from jhana, one reflects on jhana. Noble ones reflect on the change of lineage, they reflect on purification. Noble ones reflect on defilements abandoned, they reflect on defilements suppressed, they know defilements accumulated before. In non-grasped, graspable forms... sounds... smells... tastes... touches... in non-grasped, graspable aggregates, they discern impermanence, suffering, non-self. They find delight, they rejoice. Concerning that, lust arises... ...sorrow arises. With the divine eye, they see non-grasped, graspable form. With the divine ear-element, they hear sound. With the knowledge of penetrating minds, they know the mind of one endowed with a non-grasped, graspable mind. The base of infinite space is a condition by way of object for the base of infinite consciousness. The base of nothingness is a condition by way of object for the base of neither perception nor non-perception. Non-grasped, graspable aggregates are a condition by way of object for the knowledge of psychic powers, for the knowledge of penetrating minds, for the knowledge of recollecting past lives, for the knowledge of knowing beings' destinies according to their karma, for the knowledge of future events, and for advertence. (1) Non-grasped, graspable phenomena are a condition by way of object for grasped, graspable phenomena. Trainees or ordinary people, in non-grasped, graspable forms... sounds... smells... tastes... touches... in non-grasped, graspable aggregates, discern impermanence, suffering, non-self. They find delight, they rejoice. Concerning that, lust arises... ...sorrow arises. When wholesome and unwholesome states cease, resultant states arise as that object. Wholesome consciousness of the base of infinite space is a condition by way of object for the resultant consciousness of the base of infinite consciousness. Wholesome consciousness of the base of nothingness is a condition by way of object for the resultant consciousness of the base of neither perception nor non-perception. Noble Ones with knowledge of others' minds know the mind of one endowed with an ungrasped, not-to-be-grasped mind; ungrasped, not-to-be-grasped aggregates for knowledge of others' minds, for knowledge of past lives, for knowledge of future events, for advertence are a condition by way of object condition. (2) Predominance Condition 55. Grasped, to-be-grasped phenomenon for an ungrasped, to-be-grasped phenomenon is a condition by way of predominance condition.
