For those passing away from the form-sphere, and non-percipient beings, and formless beings, for them there the eye faculty does not arise, and the male faculty did not arise. Or again, if for whom, where the male faculty did not arise, for them there the eye faculty does not arise? For those being reborn in the form-sphere, for them there the male faculty did not arise, but for them there the eye faculty does arise. For those passing away from the form-sphere, and non-percipient beings, and formless beings, for them there the male faculty did not arise, and the eye faculty does not arise. (Ka) If for whom, where the eye faculty does not arise, for them there the life faculty did not arise? For all those passing away, and for those eyeless being reborn, for them there the eye faculty does not arise, but for them there the life faculty did arise. Thus. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for them there, the eye faculty does not arise, and the life faculty did not arise. (B) Or again, for whom, where, the life faculty did not arise, for them there, does the eye faculty not arise? For those reborn into the Pure Abodes, for them there, the life faculty did not arise, but for them there, the eye faculty does arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for them there, the life faculty did not arise, and the eye faculty does not arise. (A) For whom, where, the eye faculty does not arise, for them there, did the joy faculty not arise? For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, who are eyeless, and reborn into the sense-sphere, for them there, the eye faculty does not arise, but for them there, the joy faculty did arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, and for formless beings, for them there, the eye faculty does not arise, and the ear faculty did not arise. (B) Or again, for whom, where, the joy faculty did not arise, for them there, does the eye faculty not arise? For those reborn into the Pure Abodes, for them there, the joy faculty did not arise, but for them there, the eye faculty does arise. For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, who are eyeless, and reborn into the sense-sphere, and for formless beings, for them there, the eye faculty does not arise, but for them there, the equanimity faculty did arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, for them there, the eye faculty does not arise, and the equanimity faculty did not arise. (B) Or again, for whom, where, the equanimity faculty did not arise, for them there, the eye... the faculty of equanimity does not arise? For those being reborn in the Pure Abodes, for them there the faculty of equanimity did not arise, but for them there the faculty of sight does not not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, for them there the faculty of equanimity did not arise and the faculty of sight does not arise. For whom, in which place, the faculty of sight does not arise, for them, in that place, the faculty of faith… …the faculty of wisdom… …the faculty of mind did not arise? For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, for those without sight, for those being reborn in the sense-sphere, for those without form, for them there the faculty of sight does not arise, but for them there the faculty of mind did not not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, for them there the faculty of sight does not arise and the faculty of mind did not arise. Or for whom, in which place, the faculty of mind did not arise, for them, in that place, the faculty of sight does not arise? For those being reborn in the Pure Abodes, for them there the faculty of mind did not arise, but for them there the faculty of sight does not not arise. For those passing away from the sense-sphere, for those without smell, for those being reborn in the sense-sphere, for them there the faculty of smell does not arise, but for them there the faculty of masculinity did not not arise. For those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them there the faculty of smell does not arise and the faculty of masculinity did not arise. Or for whom, in which place, the faculty of masculinity did not arise, for them, in that place, the faculty of smell does not arise? Yes. (a) For whom, in which place, the faculty of smell does not arise, for them, in that place, the faculty of life did not arise? For all those passing away, for those without smell, for those being reborn, For them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, but for them, there, the faculty of life would have arisen. For those in the Pure Abodes, for them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, and the faculty of life would not have arisen. (B) Or again, for whom, where, the faculty of life would not have arisen, for him, there, does the faculty of smell not arise? Yes. For those departing from the sense-sphere, for those without smell, for those arising in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, but for them, there, the faculty of joy would have arisen. For those in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, and the faculty of joy would not have arisen. (B) Or again, for whom, where, the faculty of joy would not have arisen, for him, there, does the faculty of smell not arise? Yes. For whom, where, the faculty of smell does not arise, for him, there, would the faculty of equanimity... and so on... the faculty of faith... and so on... the faculty of wisdom... and so on... the faculty of mind not have arisen? For those departing from the sense-sphere, for those without smell, for those arising in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, but for them, there, the faculty of mind would have arisen. For those in the Pure Abodes, for non-percipient beings, for them, there, the faculty of smell does not arise, and the faculty of mind would not have arisen. Or again, for whom, where, the faculty of mind would not have arisen, for him, there, does the faculty of smell not arise? Yes. 359. (A) For whom, where, the female faculty does not arise, for him, there, would the male faculty not have arisen? For those departing from the sense-sphere, for those not female, for those arising in the sense-sphere, for them, there, the female faculty does not arise, but for them, there, the male faculty would have arisen. For those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, there, the female faculty and where the faculty of masculinity does not arise, the faculty of masculinity did not arise. (Kha) Or again, in whom, where the faculty of masculinity did not arise, does the faculty of femininity not arise there? Yes. (Ka) In whom, where the faculty of femininity does not arise, did the faculty of life not arise there? For those departing from the sense-sphere, for those not women re-arising in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, the faculty of femininity does not arise there, but for them, the faculty of life did arise there. For those in the Pure Abodes, for them, the faculty of femininity does not arise there, and the faculty of life did not arise there. (Kha) Or again, in whom, where the faculty of life did not arise, does the faculty of femininity not arise there? Yes. (Ka) In whom, where the faculty of femininity does not arise, did the faculty of joy not arise there?
