(Ka) For whom, where, the latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to ignorance not abandoned? Yes. (Kha) Or again, for whom, where, the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to conceit not abandoned? For four types of individuals, in painful feeling, their latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to conceit should not be said to be "abandoned" or "not abandoned." For those very same individuals, in the sense realm, in two feelings, in the form realm, in the formless realm, their latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there, and their latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned there. 322. (Ka) For whom, where, the latent tendency to wrong view is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to doubt not abandoned? Yes. (Kha) Or again, for whom, where, the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to wrong view not abandoned? Yes. ... (and so on). 323. (Ka) For whom, where, the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to craving for existence not abandoned? For the ordinary person, in the sense realm, in three feelings, their latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to craving for existence should not be said to be "abandoned" or "not abandoned." For that very same individual, in the form realm, in the formless realm, their latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned there, and their latent tendency to craving for existence is not abandoned there. (Kha) Or again, for whom, where, the latent tendency to craving for existence is not abandoned, for them, there, is the latent tendency to doubt not abandoned? For three types of individuals, in the form realm, in the formless realm, their latent tendency to craving for existence is not abandoned there, but their latent tendency to doubt is abandoned there. For the ordinary person, in the form realm, in the formless realm, their latent tendency to craving for existence is also not abandoned there. and the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned. (A) For whom, where the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned, is the latent tendency to ignorance not abandoned there? Yes. (B) Or for whom, where the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned, is the latent tendency to doubt not abandoned there? For three individuals in the sense-sphere, in the three feelings, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for them the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there, but for them the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned there. For a worldling in the sense-sphere, in the three feelings, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for them the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there, and the latent tendency to doubt is not abandoned there. 324. (A) For whom, where the latent tendency to craving for existence is not abandoned, is the latent tendency to ignorance not abandoned there? Yes. (B) Or for whom, where the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned, is the latent tendency to craving for existence not abandoned there? For four individuals in the sense-sphere, in the three feelings, for them the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to craving for existence is not to be said as "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For these same individuals in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for them the latent tendency to ignorance is not abandoned there, and the latent tendency to craving for existence is not abandoned there. (One root) 325. (A) For whom, where the latent tendency to sensual desire and the latent tendency to aversion are not abandoned, is the latent tendency to conceit not abandoned there? No. (B) Or for whom, where the latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned, are the latent tendency to sensual desire and the latent tendency to aversion not abandoned there? For a non-returner in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for them the latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to sensual desire and the latent tendency to aversion are not to be said as "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For that same individual in the sense-sphere, in the two feelings, for them the latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned there, but for them the latent tendency to sensual desire is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to aversion is not to be said as "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For three individuals in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for them the latent tendency to conceit is not abandoned there; the latent tendency to sensual desire The latent tendency and the latent tendency of aversion should not be said 'abandoned' or 'not abandoned'. No. (B) Or for whom, where the latent tendency of ignorance is not abandoned, for him there, are the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion not abandoned? For a non-returner, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for him there, the latent tendency of ignorance is not abandoned; the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion should not be said 'abandoned' or 'not abandoned'. or. Latent aversion should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For three persons, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, their latent ignorance is not abandoned there; and latent sensual lust and latent aversion should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For those very persons, in the sense-sphere, in two feelings, their latent ignorance and latent sensual lust are not abandoned there; latent aversion should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For those very persons, in painful feeling, their latent ignorance and latent aversion are not abandoned there; latent sensual lust should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". (Root of the Dyad) 326. For whom, where latent sensual lust and latent aversion and latent conceit are not abandoned, is his latent wrong view... ...latent doubt not abandoned there? No. Or for whom, where latent doubt is not abandoned, are his latent sensual lust and latent aversion and latent conceit not abandoned there? For an ordinary person, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, his latent doubt and latent conceit are not abandoned there; and latent sensual lust and latent aversion should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For that very person, in the sense-sphere, in two feelings, his latent doubt and latent sensual lust and latent conceit are not abandoned there; latent aversion should not be said "abandoned" or "not abandoned". For that very person, in painful feeling, his latent doubt and latent aversion are not abandoned there; latent sensual lust... The latent tendency of passion and the latent tendency of conceit are not to be said as "abandoned" or "not abandoned". (A) If for whom, where the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of aversion, and the latent tendency of conceit are not abandoned, is for him, there, the latent tendency of lust for existence not abandoned? No. (B) Or again, if for whom, where the latent tendency of lust for existence is not abandoned, are for him, there, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of aversion, and the latent tendency of conceit not abandoned? The latent tendency of conceit is not abandoned; the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of aversion are not to be said as "abandoned" or "not abandoned". (A) If for whom, where
