In the sense-sphere, in two feelings, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, here the latent tendency of conceit underlies. Where does the latent tendency of wrong views underlie? In all phenomena included in the personality-view, here the latent tendency of wrong views underlies. Where does the latent tendency of doubt underlie? In all phenomena included in the personality-view, here the latent tendency of doubt underlies. Where does the latent tendency of lust for existence underlie? In the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, here the latent tendency of lust for existence underlies. Where does the latent tendency of ignorance underlie? (Ka) For whom the latent tendency of sensual lust underlies, for him does the latent tendency of conceit underlie? Yes, it does. For a non-returner, the latent tendency of conceit underlies, but for him, the latent tendency of sensual lust does not underlie. For three persons, the latent tendency of conceit underlies and the latent tendency of sensual lust underlies. (Ka) For whom the latent tendency of sensual lust underlies, for him does the latent tendency of wrong views underlie? For two persons, the latent tendency of sensual lust underlies, but for them, the latent tendency of wrong views does not underlie. For an ordinary person, the latent tendency of sensual lust underlies and the latent tendency of wrong views underlies. (Kha) Or for whom the latent tendency of wrong views underlies, for him does the latent tendency of sensual lust underlie? Is it? Yes. (A) For whom the underlying tendency of sensual lust lies latent, for him does the underlying tendency of doubt lie latent? For two individuals, the underlying tendency of sensual lust lies latent, but for them, the underlying tendency of doubt does not lie latent. For the ordinary person, the underlying tendency of sensual lust lies latent, and the underlying tendency of doubt also lies latent. For a non-returner, the underlying tendency of ignorance underlies, but for him, the underlying tendency of aversion does not underlie. In a non-returner, the latent tendency of conceit lies latent, but not in him do the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent. In three types of individuals, the latent tendency of conceit lies latent, and the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent. In whom the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent, does the latent tendency of views... (and so on) ...the latent tendency of doubt lie latent in him? In two types of individuals, the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent, but not in them does the latent tendency of doubt lie latent. In a worldling, the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent, and the latent tendency of doubt also lies latent. Or again, in whom the latent tendency of doubt lies latent, do the latent tendency of sensual desire and the latent tendency of aversion lie latent in him? Yes.
