For all those who are passing away, and for those who are being reborn without an eye, for them the phenomena-base will arise, but for them the eye-base does not arise. For those who are being reborn with an eye, for them the phenomena-base will arise and the eye-base arises. (Rooted in the eye-base) 87. (A) For whom does the nose-base arise, for him will the form-base arise? For those in their last existence, who are being reborn in the sense-sphere, and for those who, having been reborn in the formless realm, will attain final Nibbāna, for them, as they are being reborn, the nose-base arises, but for them the form-base will not arise. For others who are being reborn with a nose, for them the nose-base arises and the form-base will arise. (B) Or, for whom will the form-base arise, for him does the nose-base arise? For all those who are passing away, and for those who are being reborn without a nose, for them the form-base will arise, but for them the nose-base does not arise. For those who are being reborn with a nose, for them the form-base will arise and the nose-base arises. (A) For whom does the nose-base arise, for him will the mind-base arise? For those in their last existence, who are being reborn in the sense-sphere, for them the nose-base arises, but for them the mind-base will not arise. For others who are being reborn with a nose, for them the nose-base arises and the mind-base will arise. (B) Or, for whom will the mind-base arise, for him does the nose-base arise? For all those who are passing away, and for those who are being reborn without a nose, for them the mind-base will arise, but for them the nose-base does not arise. For all who are passing away, and for those being reborn without form, for them the mind base will arise, but for them the form base does not arise. For those being reborn with form, for them the mind base will arise and the form base arises. (a) For whom the form base arises, will the mind-object base arise for him? For those who are last-existents, being reborn in the five-constituent existence, for them the form base arises, but for them the mind-object base will not arise. For others, being reborn with form, for them the form base arises and the mind-object base will arise. (b) Or for whom the mind-object base will arise, does the form base arise for him? For all who are passing away, and for those being reborn without form, for them the mind-object base will arise, but for them the form base does not arise. For others, those with eyes, arising, for them, there the eye base arises, and the ear base will arise. (B) Or again, for whom, where the ear base will arise, for them, there does the eye base arise? For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, for those without eyes, arising in the sense-sphere, for them, there the ear base will arise, but for them, there the eye base does not arise. For those with eyes, arising, for them, there the ear base will arise, and the eye base arises. (A) For whom, where the eye base arises, for them, there will the nose base arise? For those in their last existence, arising in the sense-sphere, arising in the form-sphere, for them, there the eye base arises... arises, but for them there the nose-faculty will not arise. For others, those with eyes, being reborn in the sense-sphere, for them there the eye-faculty arises and the nose-faculty will arise. (B) Or for whom, or where, the nose-faculty will arise, for them there does the eye-faculty arise? For those passing away from the sense-sphere, for those without eyes, being reborn in the sense-sphere, for them there the nose-faculty will arise, but for them there the eye-faculty does not arise. For those with eyes, being reborn in the sense-sphere, for them there the nose-faculty will arise and the eye-faculty arises. (A) For whom, or where, the eye-faculty arises, for them there will the form-faculty arise? For those in their last existence, being reborn in the five-constituent existence, for them there the eye-faculty arises, but for them there the form-faculty will not arise. For others, those with eyes, being reborn, for them there the eye-faculty arises and the form-faculty will arise. For those with eyes, being reborn, for them there the form-faculty will arise and the eye-faculty arises. (A) For whom, or where, the eye-faculty arises, for them there will the mind-faculty arise? For those in their last existence, being reborn in the five-constituent existence, for them there the eye-faculty arises, but for them there the mind-faculty will not arise. For others, those with eyes, being reborn, for them there the eye-faculty arises and the mind-faculty will arise. For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, for those without eye-sense reappearing in the sense-sphere, for those from the formless realms, for them there, the mind-base will arise, but for them there, the eye-base does not arise. For those with eye-sense reappearing, for them there, the mind-base will arise and the eye-base arises. (A) For whom, where the eye-base arises, for them there, will the phenomena-base arise?
